We've already signed a player?

Yeah...we've got a keeper.

Missing out after 'verbal agreements' probably happens 4 or 5 times over but without any announcements, Wilson took a risk by talking about it. We shall see.

There must be some decent Huddersfield players surplus to requirements seeing that they are signing everyone [if this is true].

If Robinson doesn't sign, so be it.  What OTJ and Robinson show though is a commitment to spend over £500k by the Board if the player is right.  Money clearly is not an object if the target is in the "young potential and could be worth a fair bit more in a season or two" bracket.  If players go elsewhere because they feel the club is better, not much we can do about that.  It's going to take a few years before we can compete with Norwich or Huddersfield or Leeds or Charlton etc.  Whether we like it or not, we've had a club with a rotting stench attached to it for 10 years and that takes time to clean off.  Players like Cox moving on and gradual improvement as a club should help signal us as a place to come - lets not forget these players were willing to sign for us (or may still), it's just that bigger fish came along in their minds.

Sorry, but Id have to disagree. Last season we went backwards on the pitch. If anything it seems agents preferred dealing with the rotten stench.

Squad is still bottom half quality wise.

I think we will have to hope on the lottery of the last few hours of the transfer market. Which will probably mean starting the season 2 or 3 players short.

We didn't really go backwards just didn't really improve on the season before. Cox's goals will be missed of course but i fancy paynter to keep improving as he has done. Get another striker or 2 to pitch in with 15 and we could be ok. With Greer here for the season we shouldn't concede as many. Getting goals from midfield is going to be crucial though next season and is where i would really like to see players being bought in at the moment.

last season we went backwards on the pitch with the same players who had taken us forward the previous season under a different management sent up.

I personally still think the likes of Ifil, Easton, Aljofree, JPM, McNamee, Timlin & even Lee Peacock are capable of being better next season. Injuries and what not permitting.
