So how about Celtic just give us 3.5 million then (2.5 for Cox and 1 for Morrison + Cuthbert)?

I think Cuthbert is a Right Back, obviously would love to keep Morrison but the lure of playing for Celtic is something you can't really turn down.

I thought Diagouraga looked handy when we had him too. Too good for League 2 with Hereford anyway..

Thanks Weasel, I thought I was going mad.... I remember thinking he'd be a future star when he was here on loan, amazing how his career panned out, still young though! Tony Grant was another player like that, had a brief stay in Everton's first team before dropping down the divisions.

That Cuthbert is what you'd call a 'long-term' target cos haven't we managed to land him before? Perhaps cash + Cuthbert for Cox might be the way to go.

Theo Robinson, from watford? 7 goals in 21 for southend is no way good enough in my opinion.

Parkin and cox's goals ratio's were far worse than that when they joined us though.

Theo Robinson would not replace Cox but would give us some goals? We need more than 1 striker anyway.

Not enough unless we get someone else/more players who can score goals, especially if we want success next season.

It's best not to be relying on one person's goals if you want to push for the playoffs anyway. So it's something we'll have to sort out if we keep cox/ manage to replace him or not

We will be lucky to pick up a striker hitting 15 a season let alone 20.

Unfortunately we have been spoiled with Cox, so anyone we sign will be a let down in some supporters eyes.

What we need is a greater return from both strikers as well as the wingers and midfield, with the odd defenders goal every now and then.  That is the sort of return that will get us up in or around the play offs, not one player scoring all of our goals.

EDIT:  It would have been quicker to write "I agree Ben" EDIT: "and Herthab"

Who was our top scorer in 2007-2008 and 2006-2007 and how many goals did they score?

How many goals did Peterborough's, Dongs, Millwall's and Scunthorpe's leading goalscorer have this season in the league?

15 goals a season striker + goals from his strike partner and midfielders isn't a bad return.

We probably(definitely) won't get a goal scorer like Cox again next season, but apart from rovers, no one a goal scorer like him last season and most of them finished above us!

Theo Robinson reminds me of Macca in some aspects.
he is very quick, same build as Macca, both lively on there day.
but Robinson has a better eye for goal or more confident in his shooting ability than Mcnamee

I saw on sky sports news this morning that Freddy Sears is to be loaned out next season, Zola considers him a vital part of the hammers' future and wants him to gain more match experience.

Not sure if they'd rather he went to the championship but would be pretty good at L1 level for a season.

So we could have the Ifil and Sears towers next year ?   Is Laslo Petronas available ?
