I liked Delaney. He won headers. He organised those around him. Yeah he's not mobile, and he'll caught caught out when exposed but there was plenty of Will Wright horror shows last season too. It's just that because Delaney doesn't score free kicks or whip in a corner he's not given the same free pass as Wright is.

Leicester City centre-back Tom Wilson-Brown has agreed a season-long loan move to Swindon Town. Chesterfield and Kilmarnock were also keen on Wilson-Brown but Swindon have won race for him. #LCFC #stfc #spireites #KilmarnockFC

He's 6 ft. 4 in. tall apparently, sh0uld be able to win a few headers.

There is no story that posters on this forum can't turn into something to be negative about is there?

We've gone from an entirely unsubstantiated rumour of a young player coming in on loan to "well this player (that you probably slagged off throughout last season anyway) is obviously being sold then. Typical Swindon always trying to do it on the cheap!" .

We could sign fucking Erland Haaland and there'd be someone finding something to moan about.

Holloway says he has full control over transfers something like twice a week at the moment. He's made clear he's not letting anyone out the door that he feels has a role to play next season. But there are a couple that he thinks won't get much game time and if they get a chance elsewhere he won't stand in their way.

I've no idea if Delaney is in the first group of the second. But I trust him having managed for a couple of decades at all levels of the game to make that decision over some internet loudmouth.

And if anyone thinks our back 3 will be lacking experience as a result then you've really not been paying attention for the last six months. It's clear Clarke and Ball will both play games in defence this season just like they did last. One of them has played there for part of most pre season games.

Implying every move in the transfer market is the result of a board interfering to cut costs is idiocy when the playing staff budget would have been agreed with Ollie months ago.

If a decision is made to cut Delaney adrift it will be because Ollie wants that cash to spend on wages elsewhere in the team. Probably to pay another bloody forward because he seems determined to emulate Ossie's Spurs 3-2-5 formation for games we're not winning by at least 2 goals and the 6 or 7 forwards we have now clearly aren't enough for him.

Releasing Delaney for money to pay Scott Sinclair I could imagine happening, and if that's Ollie's decision I'm fine with it. Personally I think it leaves us a bit unbalanced between attack and defence but I've not managed 1000 pro games and got 2 clubs promoted to the Premier so I'm willing to admit he might know what he's doing better than me. I'd rather us be too attacking than too defensive anyway.

Plus Will Wright played almost every game last year and Delaney was injured for a large part of the season.

Board give the fans absolutely zero reason to trust them after years of lies and negligence.

So yes Grumpymunki, this theme will continue until they are gone. Best get used to it.

Would be nice if you transferred some of your energy into holding this regime accountable though instead of coming after concerned TEF members who love the club.

I will be surprised if Delaney is still with us by Deadline day, I have heard he wants a move North.

I expect at least 1 more in this week as well as the Leicester lad, probably a forward and maybe 2 or 3 players out.

Tom Wilson-Brown is a bit of a coup signing, wanted by several teams and able to fill in at left back too according to the Leicester forum.

The key to this being whether the 2-3 out are first choice players, or fringe players.

I'd read that Chesterfield had been trying all summer to get Wilson-Brown so it's interesting that we managed to get him as Chesterfield would have been considerably closer to home you would have thought.

I wonder if we'll sign Scott Sinclair? I wouldn't have thought we needed him really but knowing Ollie's love of attacking players, I wouldn't be shocked if we did.

I am pretty sure Holloway knows his best 11-16 squad and I am certain he wont allow any of those to leave unless he has a replacement lined up.

The Smith stuff seems to have blown over now unless they come back with a big bid he wont be leaving, I also dont see any of the main players leaving just the ones on the fringes of the squad.

There has been rumours for months of Delaney, Butterworth, Minturn being possibly surplus to Holloways requirements etc and the Ameen saga drags on with Holloway holding out for £500k up front. So maybe we could see some loans for players out who Ollie thinks need game time/want off the wage bill.
