Just hours after Holloway praised his professionalism too  Bye

His agent must have heard that and is now trying to force a move.

Being saying it a while. From Ameens point of view he could probably get a nice move higher up and still get loaned back to league2 so can’t see it effecting his development. Holloway was excellent last season and worked wonders barely did a thing wrong but I still think he missed a trick not starting him in more of those dead rubber games, not bringing him in etc.

If I’m Botan I’d genuinely question how many starts I’d be getting in our team next season

No doubt his agent is telling him and his parents how much money he could get elsewhere.

A great shame,  hopefully the club are able to get a good deal out of it & not cave into a subpar offer as we historically have

That is the point of an agent.

I think he'd be mad not to move now. He's not a local lad, he'd be around the first team here but not a starter. It's a shame that football is like this, but all it takes is an injury at this stage and he's Abu Kanu, who went from the next big thing we were trying to sell to getting quietly released EOS.

Not disagreeing with you but listening to Ollie in his interview he clearly states the offers they’ve received have been too low so unless it suits the club he will be here for another year which could backfire if it goes to a tribunal.

Holloway sounds ready to dig his heels in and rightfully so. This will show how much say Holloway has in things.

It definitely sounds like he’s running the show from top to bottom!

We just make sure we get a decent fee and i trust Holloway in this situation. He would’ve handled this exact thing many times before.

I knew Ameen’s agent was a cunt, just by when he referred to Zav Austin on Twitter as the club director

Examples like Marcus Ifill and Will Randall show the grass isn’t always greener.

I originally thought it would be peanuts but given Harley Hunt never had a pro deal its a similar situation and he fetched 1.5M which is including add-ons I guess.

Slightly different I think. I’m not clued up on Hunts background massively but the fact he came through multiple age groups here (I think) weights quite heavily compared to Ameen who joined us a year or so prior from QPR at scholarship level so we have less stake in the development compensation.

Could be wrong however.

**Edit**
Actually on research Hunt didn’t start here massively young or for a much longer period than Ameen but I do seem to remember something being mentioned somewhere about those younger development years pre scholarship/able to sign a pro contract ages being weighted differently. Then the other factors like first team appearances etc used on top. Very confusing, wouldn’t want to be relying on a tribunal for sure.

So what's the situation come next summer if he is out of contact?

He walks, we get compo, but he's not exactly been here that long. But if he's had a good season with multiple first team appearances then maybe the tribunal fee won't be as nominal as thought?

Or is development compo fixed rate based on whatever (eg. appearances) ?

Edit: the post above edit answers some of this.

Can we agree terms with the signing team to avoid tribunal if he's a free agent?

I think what you’d look for this summer is the gap between what you would estimate to get a tribunal and is his worth to the team this year and then whatever profit could come over that?

Is he one of Hart’s recruits? Bit of a conflict of interests with him getting a cut of any sale, guess it depends soon he wants some cash.
