Perfection is not attainable

We've all said the same about Freckleton really. I don't like the whole 'it was the fans wot killed him' narrative, but I guess the fans get the blame for everything at this club.

Rumours that we'll sign Nichols on a permanent contract to fix the six loans problem.
AFAIK the limit on loans is 8 at any club at any time but only 5 of them can be in any match day squad.

I had also heard that about Nicols too.

We have until 11pm on Monday for the deadline, looks like it will be Bycroft or Barden tomorrow no matter what now.

Probably nothing but I saw someone tweet and then quickly delete a reference to a goalkeeper with initials CR.

Connor Ripley? Seems 2nd or 3rd choice at Port Vale. Remember someone mentioning earlier in the window that the keeper we’re interested in is around the first team setup of their club.

Must admit it would be very satisfying for Freckleton to turn around, he didn’t have any abuse/dislike due to personality, just looked out of his depth at times alongside Kennedy making silly comments. Feel for him as Sheff Utd have handled it horribly…

Be great if he could come back in the fold, after succeeding with the run, and do well on the left.  He is quick and if guided properly could do well.

Part of the issues with Freks was Kennedy was always defending him and never took him out of the firing line when he clearly lost form and fans could see he was not playing very good, then the comments about him being allowed to date Kennedy's invisible daughter came along - none of that helped Freks so he ended up bearing the brunt of the fans frustration, and for a young lad it probably affected him.

Not against giving Freckleton a clean slate under Holloway.

He looked out of his depth under Kennedy but most of them did.
With Cox injured(?) & Longelo gone maybe he could do a job at LWB?

Rumours of Connor Ripley to Swindon confirmed on the Port Vale forum where they are suggesting its as good as a done deal.

A good number of appearances for several clubs. Certainly has the experience we need...looks like he'd be a big physical presence as well...

I'd be surprised, only because under Holloway we've been very open about who is (and isn't!) training with the club - Scott Malone was confirmed by name in the presser - and nobody has mentioned him.

Ripley... believe it or not.
