I thought this was STFC Transfer Rumours or has it change to ''The Peter Shilton Appreciation Society''.

Come one people, at least make some rumours up but as has been discussed before, this is a thread not to be derailed  Cheesy

Still saying Lewis Thomas, GK from BCFC on loan.

We would want someone with games under their belt, someone like JoJo who has proven capable at few clubs and has maybe fallen out of favor - although I cant seem them letting him go.

Ideally someone experienced who has a fair few games under their belt.

This would only happen Barden could be returned though and there has been no hint of that happening.

Bardens loan is apparently at no cost to Swindon.

‘Aidan Stone’s contract has been mutually terminated to allow him to pursue opportunities closer to his family home in the south-west’.

Coincidence?

Maybe. Not sure he's the proven experienced keeper we crave. But neither was Benda.

I’d certainly take him over Bycroft. Did well at Vile.

Weird that hes from the North Midlands and has never played for a team further south than Nottingham but his family home in the South West?

Weird one that, according to my Google-Fu he lives in Newton Abbott but Notts County is the most southern club he's ever played for... Born in Stafford, played for Vale, Mansfield, Burnley and few other northern loans.

Swindon is still over 130 miles away from his place Cheesy

Stone would certainly be a rock solid presence at the back.

Indeed Smiley makes little sense to me but we don't know if his father/mother/wife/partner etc come from the South West I guess.

Could be a plethora of things, I think football fans get too tied up on where players are from, for instance I'm no footballer but I'm from Oxford but never worked south of Wigan!

Edit - a gobby fucker but good with his feet, could be what we are after... https://www.chad.co.uk/sport/football/england-international-trio-give-mansfield-towns-aidan-stone-a-perfect-grounding-in-the-art-of-goalkeeping-2502376

What's Exeter's situation like at goalkeeper? If he's from Newton Abbott that would make the most sense. Unless he's dropping down to Torquay.

Or maybe Notts County are using that as an excuse to let him leave for free.

A bit like Michael Smith leaving us to go back up North (to Portsmouth)   Wink
