Botan Ameen who doesn't currently have a pro contract (and is out of scholarship in summer) and is absolutely getting interest from elsewhere.

Goota get them in the shop window somehow!

Yep, the more first team football he’s played the bigger the fee you can ask.
Alternatively, the bigger the fee you get from a tribunal if it goes that way

Baffling. He hardly looked a world-beater, fair enough, but showed flashes of brilliance and in a relegation fight, we should certainly not be allowing players that look like they have a bit about them to leave. And if you do allow them to leave, at least ensure you get a fee for a player with a year and a half left on his contract ffs. Confusing business from the club again

And he's signed an 18 month contract with them, so no extra job security

Let’s reassess at the end of Jan. It’s an odd one, but his almost continuous mystery injuries were also pretty odd. Clearly a decent player, who we’ve let go for nothing (barring consultancy fees).

Didn't Holloway mention that as one of the reasons he was keen on the move? He was getting 2.5 years?

I guess he couldn't have said he hated it here and wanted to go back up north so said something fairly believable that's now been proved to be nonsense - if indeed he did say what I thought he said, it could be me being nonsensical.

It’s a worrying trend under this ownership where players only last six months.

Maybe it's 18 with an option. But it was reported as 18

Thing is - it’s all sorts of players too.

Like having rubbish player moved on for free after 6 months, yeah I get that.
Having a good player sold for a tidy profit after 6 months, not great but logical to an extent.

…but…it’s good players, bad players, squad players, average players & loan players…
It’s everyone anytime a bid comes in - even if that bid is £0

Basic 'buy that player' transfer fees aren't the only trees involved in transfers.

Signing bonuses, agents fees, future fees, all of these exist and to me it's the agents fees that's most interesting given our current setup.

But the official "agents fees" disclosure says we didn't pay much.

The utterly one eyed and fact free bollocks that makes up the debate on any issue on this site is becoming a real bore.

Four pages of moaning because a new manager, who thinks our squad is too big (something most of you agree with) decides to let go a player that:
* has started 6 league games since he got here, cost us nothing (and has never cost any club a fee at the age of 25)
* has barely been in the starting line up since Holloway took over
* has become a player barely able to challenge as third choice left back and has been played out of position when played at all

The manager's been clear it's a decision he made because of the first point, has been banging on in the media for weeks that he's planning to get players that aren't playing out so they can get some game time and keeps saying he wants to give a chance to our own young talent.

But fuck that eh? A manager preferring to play a talented young forward player in attack rather than someone who's been pushed out of the team by a teenage academy graduate  is just covering for a board seeking to gain (in some vague unspecified way) through agents fees.

Despite every bit of actual evidence showing WE BARELY FUCKING PAY ANY! (2nd lowest in the league at less than £24k in latest published data).

Honestly I'm sort of expecting stuff on weather control and contrails soon.

Are you all watching GB News of something?

I'm not sure why this transfer is causing a stir either.   He was brought in as a left wing back by the previous manager even though he thinks of himself as a right winger Hmmm.   Kennedy also bought in Cox and Kirkman to play there as could Uwakwe, Sobowale and King.   Fucking loads of them

IH has said he wants to play 4-3-3 and have a smaller squad - Kirkman and Cox are probably the 2 LBs with Chard as backup.
Longelo therefore is not a key player in his plans so letting him go to bring someone in that may be makes sense.

So what if there's no fee, he's hardly Scott Twine ripping up the league, by not paying him you can pay someone else.

We will also never know if backhanders are happening further up but you would have thought that the EFL is watching closely given all the red flags over recent years

Yep that's ok if we get someone better to replace him who will be on the same wages and is a give away. Salford must see something in him and they're top 3
