Perfection is not attainable

Butterworth has three sub appearances totalling 41 mins for Carlisle in L2 this season. We must be pretty confident that we are seeing something in him that Carlisle aren’t (assuming he will sign, and that you’ve got the inside line on this.)
Butterworth does seem on paper a wierd one, not set the world on fire despite starting his career at Man Utd and being bought in by Blackburn.

Andy Crosby at Vale saying "Dan has incredible talent in possession; he can create chances, he can score, he can play the final pass" and still only 24 (25 in 2 weeks) he seems to be more of a creator than a scorer though, pretty much as Jake Young was before he joined us.

Plays a similar style to Young apparently and has been scouted for a while so I am guessing they have seen something in him.

That would be a lot of forwards...I wonder if Kennedy is thinking if reverting to the old traditional 2-3-5 formation....I reckon it would be worth it for one game at least for the surprise element on its own...

That could be fun. Based on how ineffective they've been so far, we might as well have been playing one midfielder...

Jon Saunders, who the Butterworth rumour seems to have originated from said last night he thought he'd been stitched up on that one.

Reckon the club went all Wagatha Christie & fed false rumours to suspected leaks to figure out who it was.

5 forwards now?

WE HAVE TOO MUCH DEPTH

take me back to Davison having to play 18 games in a row.

in all seriousness, i don't see how this ends well for Glatzel at all.

Khan’s journo mate saying he had offers from clubs in France, MLS, the EFL Championship, and Saudi. Struggling to believe he had all them offers yet joined a L2 side on Deadline day.

Adver have called him a creative midfielder in their announcement.
Not what wiki etc say but maybe that's where the club are planning on playing him.

Don’t think I’ve ever see a more ‘meh’ signing than Butterworth

‘Creative spark’ his current stats certainly don’t suggest so

I thought Butterworth was more of a number 10?

In fairness he has more League Two assists this season than everyone in our team aside Freckleton. That probably says more about us though…
