Khan is definitely on the way out. I wonder whether our asking price is higher than suitors are willing to pay. At least we now know it's 1 out and 1 in so we should see more business once he's gone.
Interestingly if it was the choice of the two I think the club would offload Cain but they haven't received any interest.

Personally I'd hate to see Khan go as I rate him and still think he has something to offer. The problem is I just don't know in what role.  Our current midfield set up is like trying to put square blocks in round holes and Khan sits in that mould.

In my mind the moon raker article doesn’t add up. If we were at budget last year, how is it we can increase budget this year? Also how were they able to throw the kitchen sink at trying to sign Kemp? Was Russell just spinning a yarn to Sam?

I think the "league" budget rule is a % of income rather than a raw number, so if our income went up (and I'm imagining it must be based on the previous year, so the drop in ST holders wouldn't affect it yet) then the same % could be a higher £ figure?

As much as Sam is a good journalist and isn’t stupid let’s not forget that this lot have a track record for manipulating and using vocal individuals to do their PR work for them. I think anything they say to anyone should be taken with a whole block of salt.

I think his best position is an attacking midfielder, but not in the Payne/Kemp role.
Not sure we are going to play that way, so can see why they would listen to offers. If we replace him with a pacy attacking player we would probably settle for that.
The problem is we probably replace him with an injured CB Wink

I’d imagine any transfer sales ‘surplus’ can be added. Also, there’s been a sizeable increase via the new TV deal.

This part has to be a downright lie from the club.

Look at 1st team players out and players in this summer, it does not even get close to adding up.

1st team squad out 12
Lewis Ward
Charlie Austin
Ricky Aguiar
Tyrese Shade
Tomi Adeloye
Williams Kokolo
Tom Brewitt
Rushian Hepburn-Murphy
George MacEachran
Tom Clayton
Reece Devine
Udoka Godwin-Malife

Loans out 3
Harry McKirdy
Dawson Devoy
Zack Elbouzadi

Youth/young players 3
Conor Brann
Brooklyn Genesini
Harley Hunt

1st team squad in 7
Will Wright
Tunmise Sobowale
Rosaire Longelo
Harry Smith
Ollie Clark
Grant Hall
Ryan Delaney

Loans in 2
Joel Cotterill
Miguel Frecklington

Youth/young players in 1
Dylan Mitchell

Thats basically 15 1st team players leaving with only 9 1st team ready players coming in.

Thats a huge deficit wage wise, in fact its a budget reduction of around 1/4 on 1st team level players I would think.

And Wollacott has not endeared himself to Creepy fans so far, several blaming him for their defeat to Palace at the weekend.

I thought he was very good for us until the Ghana call ups. Then he went downhill massively.

Perhaps he just had a good few months.

Wallocott was decent for us & it was absolute dickhead move by Garner to drop him towards the end of the season…

He was better than Lewis Ward.
