Also just heard the same Bostock rumour elsewhere from someone who is usually right. Fair bit of smoke there it seems.

He was very good for Notts under Williams last season. Controls the game well and as one of two sitters i think he would work great.

I do begin to worry about creativity further up the pitch in midfield though, namely i think we need a better Cain type in there somewhere. Perhaps Khan is seen further forward under Kennedy?

Clarke, Bostock and Oforborh aren't exactly the most 'mobile' of players. Still more experience, I guess we just have to be careful not to go too far the other way.

Not against him coming back, he's clearly a class act at this level.

we've been to Aberdeen, we hate the Hibs, they make us spew up, so make some noise,
the gorgie boys, for Hearts in Europe.

Assumed that Bostock would be older than 32, if he does come to Town then I think he can be a real asset for us in League Two.  I guess our interest came after he played for Swansea against us in the friendly last weekend.

We would also start having to look at more 'mobile' players in that midfield area but I am sure the hierarchy have all this in hand......

Don't forget McGurk if they can fix him.

Bostock joining up with the team would be a fairly good idea. I can't see any negatives to signing him up, he'd be a good addition to the squad.

Still think Khan will go tbh. I'm not worried about the side creative players I think we will add them

Maybe. I still have question mark against him, though he showed good talent a couple of times last season.

But he has been used as a forward so far along with Glatz/Drinnan and Smith. Even with those 4 you need a pacy forward.

So i wasn't discounting him, just counting him somewhere else.

Quite possibly these are the type of loans you get late from better clubs as well.

Was one of the youngest ever debutants at 15, but even remembering that I was surprised he was only 32.

Agree.

What's the question marks you have?

For me he clearly has bags of talent. Physically he didn't look ready for week on week football. Also a bit inconsistent.

That's not a criticism as such, just things you'd expect on a player of that type transitioning from youth to first team football. So I think of him as an ongoing project that will, if things go well, become more influential as things progress.

All for John Bostock, I thought he was really good when he was here with us before.

Yeah pretty much the same. He had a great touch, good vision and played some lovely forward balls, clearly scored a couple of good goals by being decent on his left and right side. I think a lot of the time he got bullied, as the pace of the 'mens' game was too quick for him relative to youth football, and unlike others his size doesn't help him much with that. I think he's a good project, but he's 21 not 18.

So i have no problem with him at all, but i struggle to say what his position is or will be.

Also the struggle is last season we had arguably the best creative midfielder you will ever see at this level in Kemp, so its a difficult act to follow, if we see him as that position.
