He would be in a sense... a shitshow then and a shitshow now.
Kemps a footballer (no shit Sherlock) but I imagine as long as he’s getting paid - he’s going to be a lot more bothered by the team, formation, tactics & manager than he is about the shit show behind the scenes… Flynn obviously built the side around him, got the best out of him & he had a fruitful partner with Jake Young - none of which will be here should he come back…

Kemp can really only play the 10, so you'd have to sign him knowing you'd be using a 10.
He'd be decent enough signing - but we had him last season and his presence may well have been a reason behind our porous defensive displays. He offered no help and we played specifically to get the best out of him in attack. Not saying I'd be against his signing, but you'd need some really solid players behind him. I'm more worried about wide players and defenders to be honest, that is where we have a huge gap.

If Kennedy is a 352 guy, Ofoborh, Clarke and then Kemp in the 10 is a tidy 3 man midfield. We shall see. I'm not holding my breath! (I also don't want us to play 352 but hey)

Said similar a few pages back using McGurk instead of Kemp. Similar opinion of 352 as well

Similar in nature to 03/04 when Kingy was playing 352 with the 3 CMs being Hewlett, Miglioranzi & Igoe slightly more advanced.

I don't like it at the best of times but I particularly think at L2 level, and with our budget, it is just so rare that you have 3 CBs good enough to play this system.

I think having wing backs at this level stifled your attack. Your wide players are either picking up the ball too deep to be a threat to the opposition or they are so far up & leaving big gaps. It’s also imperative you have really switched on DM. So when play transitions from attacking to defending he will drop back 10 yards or so into CB and push the outside CBs into RB/LB to create a back 4… …balance is also key - it’s gonna bite you in the ass if you have both wing backs & the two outside centre backs & the ‘defensive’ midfielder all attacking…and one man back defending!!!

Yeah, the goals against tally might have been a bit better if only Flynn had insisted on 2 CB's sitting if the 3rd was rampaging forward.
Would probably have gained a few more points even without a recognised CDM.
As with any formation 352 will work with the right blend of players in place.
Keeping it simple also helps.

Not sure 25 goals in the first 10 games of our L2 season is seeing an attack being stifled? Only 4 teams outscored us all season.

Well it's generated some debate on this thread at least, in a traditionally very quiet time post season.
Don't think that anyone genuinely believes that Kemp is a realistic signing.
22nd place is still the target.
