It would be an incredible coup but I don’t see it happening. Kemp could talk with us out of courtesy, and to have another offer on the table to act as bargaining power in negotiations with others. If he was to sign, it changes everything that about the club’s ambitions. He could be given a deal with a low release that would work for all involved.

Looks like he's been taken in by what is, I'd suggest, not a particularly reliable source. Kemp would be a tremendous signing of course and I'm sure he's mulling over probably a good amount of offers. We'd probably have to make him the best paid player at the club to sign him, I'd imagine.

The club apparently have spoken to Kemp about signing and hope that because he is one of the Elite Management stable that we hold the upper hand, many other clubs are looking at him as well, several from higher up the leagues. I personally dont think he will come back.

I think we're more likely to get Ross Kemp signed up to do an On Gangs special about our backroom shenanigans.
Or Ross Kemp Extreme World - Stratton Bank Toilets.

Everyone could just read the pages back last pre season when we we’re supposedly signing 5 players in a week and how 2 are nearly over the line etc only for none to materialise for one reason or another. Will we ever learn? Ok we appear to have signed one decent player on paper so far and yes if Kemp signs that’s a welcome bonus too, but is it enough to make me want to buy a ST, not a chance. I really want to be optimistic and see Clem make 8 or 9 more quality signings on permanent contracts but realistically know we’re end up cobbling a half arsed attempt of a squad with a couple of decent players in. Looking to see if Kennedy has the same excuse book that Flynn did last preseason.

By all means try & make Kemp our best paid player but maybe not at the expense of putting all of the budgetary eggs into one basket if it means missing out on 2 or 3 targets that might otherwise improve the first team.
This assumes that there is a wage structure & serious plan in place and not just a piecemeal hotchpotch aimed solely at fan appeasement.
Might be better to just concentrate some effort into signing McGurk up?

The fact this discussion is even taking place shows how far expectations have shifted with the signing of Clarke. This is in part, of course, because expectations were absolute rock bottom. Now they are perhaps moderate “let’s do ok”, and a couple more signings and we might start to say “let’s push at the top end”.
This should not, of course, be seen as success (as I expect Morfuni thinks in his head). This is league two, and we shouldn’t be ever be aiming for less than promotion, in my opinion.

A midfield roster of Kemp, McGurk, Clarke, Ofoborh, Khan, Cain would be very solid...

Cain hasn't done anything in his time here. Hasn't had as much game time as he should mind

I think he's always looked decent when he's played. Scored a couple of good goals too. I like him.

If Kemp signs great.
I wouldn’t be pinning my hopes on it because it seems highly unrealistic. His form at Franchise post January didn’t do him any favour.
…the fact that the manager, the coaches & over half the first team will have changed doesn’t do us any favours. Like I think we’d have a more realistic chance of Kemp signing if he was coming back to exactly what he left - but he isn’t….
