Mcgurk, on paper and going off leeds fans, looks to be a very good signing. Hopefully we’ve got an option on him?

Good record in PL2 this season. Pleasantly surprised with today. Roll on Saturday.

Havent we taken over the contract of the players, I thought it was mentioned that we have options on the players signed (before today anyway).

Obviously Gunning really meant it when he said he thought we had one of the best defensive mids already as we’ve made no attempt to firm up the midfield.

Definitely going to see a 4-2-4

UGM
McCarthy
FBT
Kokolo

Khan
Cain

Glatzel
Austin
McKirdy
RHM

I wonder if we might try Brewitt in midfield now we have more options at CB and likely to be playing with 2 instead of 3.

I hope all the newbies are great.

We still lack the same things we lacked in the summer, this time last year and the summer before that.  That been there and done it type of experience, the core spine of a team.

What we have done is add some numbers, and I presume some potential (we have signed a shit load of players based on potential in the past 18 months, very little really paying off on the pitch for us in reality).

It’s going to interesting that’s for sure. I don’t think Brewitt is technically good enough to play in centre midfield but you never know I guess.

He’d definitely be more of an endeavour CM than a technical one but it *could* work….

Leeds fans up in arms about letting this lad go https://twitter.com/LUFC/status/1753206597927715215?s=19

Wonder if he's a Kemp replacement. Sit behind Austin with McKirdy/RHM and Glatzel/Elbouzedi wide. with Khan and one other (Cain?) sitting deeper.

Saturday just got a lot more interesting anyway.

Well, much better than it looked with a couple of hours to go. The club seems to have stopped leaking! Squad looks unbalanced but the numbers are there and much better than feared. Time will tell if the quality is there.

He plays 10 so a similar replacement but not the same style 10 if that makes sense. Think the formation suggested is spot on more or less. I’ve always been a 4-3-3 with a CAM man so very happy with this!

Should at least be able to fill a bench with first team players now.

Still think we are missing a proper CDM and RB.

Surprised Shade went nowhere, can’t see him getting any game time at all unless we switch to 532 during a match

It feels nice to have a bit of excitement from a footballing perspective, but I feel like the damage has already been done this season. There are a lot of unknowns in the squad still - McKirdy could either make or completely and utterly break the season. We have some numbers and we should be able to have a bench full of senior players, which is a start.

We're still piss weak in midfield and if we don't get to the play-offs at least then this season has been a failure.
