Fair but that could say more about the midfield options available (or lack there of) for him to pass to…

I was thinking similarly.

As a guesstimate, Wakeling/Hutton/Minturn would have probably amounted to c£1m in fees. Wonder where that will end up.

No chance. More like £300k and £600k with add on’s

Less than half that I'd guess. Future performance potentially elevates the fees, but I think a million is pie in the sky.

Well, it seemed odd bringing in another 19 year old CB. Makes sense now.

At this point we are all about flipping players. So, a decent profit and add ons is not to be sniffed at.

True i guess

On another note, are we equal with players gone and players signed or still have a deficiency? Until we sign some experience i think its probably been a pretty poor window so far

The quote from Gunning on Hutton is interesting - basically flat out said Gillingham have made him one of the highest earners in the division, which is... wild.

Numbers wise we're 5 in 6 out but one of the outs is Benn Ward who barely played.

Bycroft, McCarthy, Johnson, Devoy, Glatzel
Mahoney, L Ward, B Ward, Hutton, Kemp, Young

I guess with the Aguiar recall you could call it 6/6 but I assume he's going back.

Gunning's presser says 'just another one or two, I'm happy to play the kids' - crikey

Minturn's career will follow the Sean Morrison trajectory if he stays clear of significant injury.  He will be a regular starter at a Championship club by his mid 20's, and we will see lots of comments on here of, we could do with a Minturn type player now.

Of course though they will sell if the money is right, and we won't replace, with this owner anyway.

Shame if we lose Minturn. Composed on the ball, and as has been said on here - elegant at times. He clearly cares too. Defensive lapses have obviously been there, but in his first “proper” season that’s to be expected. I’d prefer to keep hold of him and partner him up appropriately - and if we have to sell for six figures one day, fantastic. Our desperation in the transfer market is rather sad. There’s just no consideration for whether we have an appreciating asset on our hands, and whether it’s worth keeping hold of him for a while yet.

This is why we have to get rid of this ownership- be better off fan owned. You could guarantee higher gate revenue for a start.

just seem to be asset stripping to me
