As a guesstimate, Wakeling/Hutton/Minturn would have probably amounted to c£1m in fees. Wonder where that will end up.

20 years old. Good height, good build and comfortable/confident on the ball.

Give him elite coaching and we'll be talking about Minturn in the same way as we talk about Twine within a few years.

...and probably arguing over non-stories like a future club owing us money too.

Spot on.
The majority of fans, including myself would have never thought Twine would progress the way he did.

Supporters only see 90 minutes a week if they are lucky. Players are tracked and potential can be coached.
Can only hope we make use of funds, that though I am not confident at this moment in time.

Minturns issue is he can’t defend, which is quite important for a defender.

Unless you play under Michael Flynn of course.

I don't totally agree. Yes he makes some bad decisions, yes he's sometimes caught out.

He also puts in some good tackles, both last minute and one on one. looks to havea pass on him when he comes out of defence too.

feel it could go either way for him.

Think you are being very optomistic there. I think you will be looking at more like

Hutton £50-£75k
Wakeling £150-200k big sell on
Minturn - Smaller upfront fee with sell on maybe around £250k

People in football know our situation and the importance of cash upfront

Pretty much exactly as I posted earlier. I think he could be a good player in time.

A good defensive coach and manager gets a good player out of him.

I think you are much closer to the actual fee although I would think Minturn would be a little more I doubt it all added up to more than £400k at most in total.

I'm going to echo a lot of points others have made re Minturn. For me, he's a confident lad and has no qualms with bringing the ball out of defence. Often he looks fairly elegant in doing it. Yes, he gets caught out and Minturn's downside for me are the basics, the general defending. For the first half against Crewe he was terrible, balls flying off his boots at bizarre angles and headers literally going straight up in the air etc.

But these are things that can be worked on and will definitely improve with minutes and experience working with good pros alongside him. Middlesbrough obviously see something in him they can develop and Carrick will like a confident CB, good on the ball and they have better coaches and training facilities than us.

Luckily he's on a long contract so we'll be financially compensated and I hope the CLUB will get a sell on if he does well.

How longs his contract? One year left?

This lot will sell at the first opportunity anyway
