Yes they will.

Players are only interested in money.

A player isn’t going to accept a lower offer from Walsall because they produced good accounts on time & we didn’t.

Plus, no player is principled enough to turn down STFC & instead decide to stay unemployed.

See this is the issue, if rumours are to be believed then it’s us that will be the lower offer, ontop of being a circus.

It isn’t that “no” player will sign for us, there will of course be players desperate for a professional contract, it’s that the higher quality ones we target will have multiple options, and the club offering peanuts has a hard enough time attracting those players, let alone with a basket case label attached to them.

On paper we should be a big fish in this league so if our house is in order and we’re still offering peanuts, then it’s easier for us  to compete for the better players with teams offering more, but offering peanuts, being 15th in the league and having a poor reputation? That’s a very tough sell to anyone other than a loan that knows they’re getting out of here eventually.

Of course the whole argument changes if we’re targeting players below quality that no one else wants.

I concur - we will absolutely miss out on players based on money.
Money offered to clubs, wages, signing on fees, agent fees, length of contract - that’s fine.

Well, it’s not fine but it’s where we are: we know that.

Saying we will miss out players due to money is one thing. It’s a factually correct statement.
It’s another thing to say no player will sign for us due to our reputation amongst the footballing community. Thats hyperbolic and highly unlike to prove true.

Town reportedly in for Chesterfield player and former Town loanee Ollie Banks. That's Banks, not Palmer.

Regular starter for the team top of National League?
No chance he leaves them

They were also flying high last season. Banks has 6months left on his current contract. Granted, Chesterfield look likely to get back in the EFL after this campaign and will be playing Town next season.

Now a team with even a smidge of ambition might speculate to accumulate. Even a player like Banks would be an improvement on Town's current midfield - especially in preparation for next season. Currently looks like the current Town board lacks any ambition in a footballing sense. Then again, their MO for making money is probably vastly different than most of us would have interest in.

We're probs both being sarcy barstards but in another dimension known as ''the world of STFC'', it's probably something that would happen.

Like a reverse stepping stone. Getting players ready for a division above but from teams below us.

Welcome to our new loan partners;
Boreham Wood
Eastleigh
and
Halifax

I know you had/have me down as a parody of myself at some point but STFC is feeling increasingly more like an extended Ripley's Believe It or Not exhibition   Eek

You keep believing that!!

We are a mess off the pitch , this has filtered down to the agents who are unwilling to suggest their players coming here......

This means a lot more than a bigger wage....
