Its still up to Bradford and how much Graham Alexander cares about upsetting the player.
Oh Alexander could be a knob and recall him and not even play him but with Young under contract for another season it could be better for them to leave him with us where he fits into our system and he is scoring goals for fun and that will raise his selling price in the Summer.

A player on 16 (say 18 maybe) goals in January is worth less than a striker scoring 30+ goals in a season, maybe even doubling his selling price in the Summer compared to now.

Just a  thought.

If Bradford will sell if they don't want him. His value is at a career high and I doubt Young will mind a L1 move and 3 year contract.

Either way, there's zero point fretting. I'll enjoy his form for the next 5 or 6 games and see how what happens.

He’s a 22 year old striker on a hot goal scoring streak at a league two club. That’s ripe for a league one/champ club to take a punt on because the resale potential is so good. From a business point of view at Bradford, if there was concrete interest higher up the chain, I’d forget about playing him in Jan, reasonable chance that he doesn’t perform the same there and stock diminishes until the summer, cash in for a good fee plus sell on whilst his stock is high and reinvest the money properly.

There is that, Simpson said he was desperate to stay but was recalled by Ipswich in January.

Wouldnt be surprised to see him back on loan in January.

A championship club with no intent on playing him ideally and then can get him back on loan.

Simpson or Young?
Simpson, Young will almost certainly go back.

Simpson has barely played for Cobblers during his loan.

Young will go, seemingly no way bradford would not want to play or sell to the highest bidder which would never be us.

Just pray for a good January recruitment, we are well placed in the league to go for it

They may recall, extend, send back then sell for more in the summer. You never know.

He maybe tempted to go for Danny Johnson who hasn’t recreated his youngesque form.  IMHO I don’t see young scoring many for other coaches.  He has prospered due to Flynns style - we will score more than them.  Johnson last year is virtually a carbon copy think he was also leagues top scorer.  Mansfield took him back and he did very little.  Bradford risk repeating the same mistake they made with Doyle and Mansfield made last year.  I expect after a couple of games if he hasn’t scored for him to be getting it in the neck as he has a languid style that can be mistaken for being lazy.

Simpson is perfectly viable if his loan ends and aside from our past links with, we would be a good destination for him. I wonder if Young might push to stay unless he knows Bradford have a deal
to sell him on in place. There is a risk for him going back there and not recreating his form. He either bags his move away now, or waits until the summer.

This is our best chance of getting him for the rest of the season, but think it's unlikely.

Alternatively Bradford make the mistake of playing him, and then sending him back as that's the only option, although they only did that with Doyle because Power stumped up the cash to sign him.

Hopefully Flynn & Co are looking at alternative options now, as the likelihood is we won't have Young by the end of January

Based on the Hall interview it doesn't sound like they are very organized ahead of this very important window. Everything is dependent on Clem being in the country in the last week of December.

You would have thought given the gaping holes they have plans in place to pounce quickly in the window. It seems not.
