I can see a case if we’re virtually safe from going down then there may not be any replacements as a worst case scenario. Pull up the drawbridge and regroup for next season mentality could be the on going mantra.
If the club try pulling that one good luck to them selling tickets for the remainder of the season and convincing people to buy season tickets again.

Hope we got some decent scouts looking out for some bargains in the January sales because we’re going to need them

If we had a normal, functioning defence we’d be top 3 easily.

You would think that would be easy to fix!

But would we have scored as many? Would the reduction in goals for be proportional to the reduction in goals against. Impossible to know.

Tbh, we don’t need to be scoring 4 if we don’t concede 3, if you get my meaning.
How nice would a 1-0 be. Half a season and absolutely nothing has changed to try and tighten up - not even tried to change.
I realise the personnel available makes that difficult but you can’t really blame the players if they are following orders. I presume Flynn doesn’t say to Dokes and/or FBT ‘don’t venture over the half way line’.

The issue is though, there's nothing wrong with Doakes or FBT going on a rampaging run.
You just need somebody to fill in for them. Surely it's common sense.
We don't have anybody who senses danger. If i'm in central midfield and see my centre back bombing forward, my instinct would be 'what if the ball gets turned over' and i'd fill in the space. We don't have that instinct. Everybody is more concerned with how they can get involved going forward.
I appreciate you can't cover every gap, but we just lack a true leader to reign people in and organise.

To paraphrase Alan Partridge, basically could I have a L2 Roy Keane for £500 please?

Not entirely fair, the last two games we have dropped an extra player into central midfield. It has helped a bit for most of the game. The fact it's Kinsella and he is not that great either means it has limited impact.

I disagree. Thought he’s been good in the last 2 games. He’s the only outlier that’s changed in the 2 wins.

I agree, we are a league 2 team i am not sure what more of a standard than Liam Kinsella people expect in a team. We had not won in 8 games he has come in and won 2 of them after a system change.

I think the fact we had A Grant in DM last time we got out of this league means that people are hoping for someone with that profile.

Hang on - you said we hadn't done anything to change, and I was saying we had, now you disagree? You are odd sometimes! Also, if you wish to disagree with my statement about Kinsella not being great, feel free. The sample size is too small, but thus far, the change has yielded 4 goals against in the two games, which is worse than the season average. Data isn't helping, not yet. I was pointing out though that Flynn had tried something, and it had born some less leaky looking performances, until the last 10 minutes yesterday. The reality is we have conceded 4 goals in the two games, 44 shots at goal, 14 of which were on target and I think it was him that gave away the penalty. That isn't looking "great" - which was my assessment, not that he was "bad", just not "great".

Better than him - he was with a struggling Walsall before us. I want someone able to get us out of the Division in an upwards trajectory. He is a squad player for a top 3 team in Div 4.

Look, the table ultimately doesn't lie. I am sure someone could pull together the stats for last season plus this combined. I am sure it will show a mid table team - that means the players and management team have not been good enough, as a collective. Surely, assuming people think we should be aiming for promotion, that must mean people are just not up to the required standard? They can't all be great but we just magically keep missing out.
The vast majority of fans thought we were still missing at least three players - a defender, a midfielder and a forward, as we came out of the transfer window, as a minimum. Stands to reason when we are not quite there yet, that we could do with something better.
