Can’t think why. What with all these xbox and Nintendo games at being a virtual PL manger it is a piece of piss. It stands to reason that all online ‘wannabe managers’ should be seriously looked at along with the dark horse candidates like Dave down the Nags Head. Glazers and Kronke et al must be absolutely stupid and clearly have no idea what they’re into. If I was a sports agent or head hunting agency first place I’d look is the Adver opinions letters and the TEF.

I’d have done a better job than Jody Morris did here…

Well yeah, if we had a big budget we'd have them in wouldn't we.

I'm not saying we can break wage structure and FPP caps. Just that its always about the money.

14 professional games at 24 years old is great example of how the current academy system can fail players (injuries aside). With the U23 teams, clubs can hoard players up until 23/24, release them and then the players struggle to get another club because they have such few minutes.

Read a interview with a Chelsea (I think) player recently who mentioned not wanting to be in that scenario, 23/24 years old with barely any senior minutes so sought out loan moves to clubs that would take them at 18/19 for a season. Another article mentioned how Prem clubs are now realising this too and looking to get players out on loan to non league clubs at a much earlier age than usual because they’re struggling to shift 21-24 year old players they no longer want due to no football league clubs wanting to take them on.

Another example of this here with McEachran

Similar to that, the keeper in the 2017 u17 WC final team with McEachran (who was on City's books at the time) who was obviously thought of as being the best English keeper in his age group at that time has just signed for Kendal Town up here having never played a league game in this country! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Curtis_Anderson_(footballer)

You’ve got to think these sorts of players could be a rich seam going forward.

Even McKirdy, who admittedly had some EFL experience, was a sort of failed Academy brat on the scrapheap.

Would be interesting to see the Club try and tie up with Southampton/Bournemouth or other clubs in the wider South West to offer an opportunity pathway to released players.

The fans would moan, like they did when Power and Sherwood had the Spurs tie-up, and that wasn't even an official one (although I am sure there were some backroom hand shakes and bank account details being shared).

We already seem to pick up a lot of Reading academy rejects in the last few years.

Did fans moan about that...? I mean, I loathe the Slug of Switzerland as much as the next man but Byrne, Kasim, Luongo, Mason, Pritchard et al were fine by me!

Limit on number of loans from one club now though, isn't there?

I absolutely moaned that our budget was shit and thought Power was fleecing us and probably pointed the cheap loans as evidence....but most of the actual loans were of good quality.

I know this is a bit niche, but it was the first thing that came to my mind....
