exactly
pretty sure we'll get the fgr guy and the Bradford kiddy.
Edwards not so sure, but he's not gone anywhere else
It was mentioned earlier today that Edwards had signed so who knows. I think we will be fine, we will get the ones we want and take 3 points on Saturday. 🤞🤞

When do we usually get squad numbers announced? Might give us an indication of what positions Flynn is still wanting to fill (not that numbers overly matter these days)

My worry is that a lack of proactivity in the transfer market isn’t a sign of success. I agree you can get better value occasionally, but it’s a huge gamble with little margin for error if you miss targets. That’s not even to say that the overall pool is smaller because an increasing number of available players are already taken.
Just like last year was a punt on unproven players with high upside, this seasons strategy is a punt that there will be enough decent players at the end of the window at a marginally lower price to offset the smaller available pool. It’s a gamble, it’s not one that sided with “competitive budgets” employ, and if it’s to be repeated it makes me nervous for what might be down the pipe with future windows.
Sides with competitive budgets go out and get what they need, not sit around and wait to see what looks tastiest once the yellow stickers come out

They have been announced, just low key. Check the first team page on the official site and you will see all the numbers that have been given out. Lots of sub 20 are free including, 3, 7 and 9. Then 13, 14 ,15, 17 and 19. So assume 2 new cbs take 2 of 14, 15, 17 and 19. New left back for 3 New forward for 9 Hopefully 7 is there for another creative midfielder.

They certainly kept that quiet! Wouldn't be surprised to see a CB pick up the 3 and the LWB pick up the 7.

I think the key question is: will the Adver go for the hat-trick of live blogs tomorrow?

Ewwww, and Adver Love Blog seems likely to be something to avoid.

Fair, although probably more content to go around. I wonder what they could do - Morshead and Power make up in style ten years on?

"Swindon woman free for love, provided potential suitor can clear mattress currently blocking rear entry in the alley."
or maybe she'd rephrase that - available for quick love, already has own mattress in alley.
edit: I didn't even notice my own double entendre until after posting

I think Angus was in sales mode with 'competitive' and Clem dodged the budget question. it could still work out, but by God we've fallen down the transfer market pecking order

What I like doing now is writing a really long post that goes against the grain of complaints to get it off my chest then just delete it as most don’t want discussions on forums anymore, they just want to vent.
Given Whelan has stated that training has not been affected means to me the signing have been in since Monday. Flynn is one big lump up front and a decent LWB away from ticking all the boxes for me. (Given the ITK info on here) Whether the players end up performing is another matter. I’m gonna play it like the tax dodger Barlow and have a little patience. But hey, I get why many fans have unwound their necks.

The fact that the training pics spam has stopped indicates to me - there will be players involve that they don’t want to announce publicly (why though I don’t know) yet…
If you are right and they have signed - why the secrecy?

Oh I’ve no idea DIV. A slight delay in paperwork. As a couple of people have stated on here, a slight problem with Jake Youngs contract with Bradford? A slight delay with the EFL. Whealan was right with Kinsella so I’ll take his word on nothing to worry about.

I mean, it’s par for the course for this administration to drag its heels on getting things confirmed isn’t it.
