Cowley suggested there will be some comings and goings this week and the picture I have seen supports that. Wouldn’t be surprised if it’s left a little later in the day to announce as these things often coincide with the early evening when online traffic is higher.

if they could do it before Supermarine, that would be great

I think that also, in our haste to see new signings, we neglect the fact that a lot of our inexperienced players from last year now had a seasons experience under their belt. And given a more solid and consistent manager to manage them we very may well see some of this squad be like new players next season.

Whilst I agree  some people will get frustrated but if we keep the spine of the team together and get them match experience together they can only get better.

I for one think there is a player in Darcy and this season could be pivotal for him, I also thing Adeloye could be a different player this season. People were crying out for a big forward target man, and he is pretty talel and well built enough to hassle defenders, but was never really given the chance.

Maybe we were a bit hasty hounding out the person doing the recruitment?
Perhaps giving the manager a bit more say, reigning him in a bit and changing his instructions might have been a better idea?

Agreed. My issue with Sandro was he was under-qualified to be doing all recruitment on his own. In tandem with a manager/DoF it could've worked well. Now we've got rid of him with no contingency plan and it just seems a mix of Flynn/ Austin finding players atm.

Is Les Caffrey still at the club? And what does Kiely actually do. So much murkiness still re structure

Kiely actually got a mention (his first) in the Advisory Board minutes this month, he was described thus: "Chris Kiely provides data consultancy that will support the recruitment which Michael Flynn is undertaking"

There is definitely room for the data driven, young development player recruitment model.
There is a good reason a lot of clubs do this - also a number of reasons why the top clubs don’t solely rely on this method.

Did we need to do something different this season, absolutely. Did that need to be a burn it down to the ground and full re-build. As of this exact moment in time, I don’t think so.

I think the problem was that having made Sandro lord and master of everything that the sun's rays touch, to demote him to Data Bitch wasn't going to work.

Agreed that a data driven recruitment consultant is worth having.

Kiely has a couple of businesses, one of which appears to be football data stuff.  Kiely is into the Gee Gee's, Ralph was a SkyBet PR chap who used to be at the Gee Gee's to ensure everyone had a good time, and has some friends like Whelans relative.  More than likely the Gee Gee circles got Ralph the job, as he'd pretended to be a football consultant for a year or two and needed a big break (he claims Wigan but appears to have been removed just before the transfer window).

Power likes the Gee Gee's - it seems we are limited to people who know people who know horses.

Clem, being Australian, would have no doubt found it endearing... or something like that anyway.
