As long as we don't play FBT as the right sided CB, the game where he played there alongside Clayton was probably one of his worst games.

I can see him playing as the Left sided CB or in a back three.

The question then is who plays LWB, Shade or Iandolo (assuming he doesn't leave)?

Maybe ref Shade. My feeling based on last season is he is a typical league 2 squad player that will jump around clubs. Everyone looks at him and sees hes a good size, has pace, can beat a man and thinks if they can just teach him the rest he will be a real talent. Chances are like others before him, he will never learn the rest sadly. But we live in hope.
I agree, Shade seems a jobbing quick L2 utility player, I still think there could be a player in there but he is way too inconsistant and often picks the wrong option for his final ball...but....Keshi was like that until the 19/20 season when it all seemed to click in place. Keshi was 25 at that point, Shade by comparison has only just turned 23.

FBT appears to be fairly competent across most positions at the back. He's probably the best headerer of the ball as well so i'd be happy with him at CB. He also has the ability to bring the ball out of defence, if Flynn sets up in such a way that allows him to be a bit of a 'libero'.

We don't yet know how Flynn wants us to setup and play but you would imagine FBT would be a pretty important cog in that side. pre-season games will be more fascinating than before.
I love FBT and think he will give his everything wherever he is chosen to play, club captain material for me too.

Iandolo (assuming he doesn't leave)?

I fear that if Iandolo doesn't leave it could all go a bit Daisy Duke.

I would be happy with mutual contract cancellation, its time he moved on now to save his career, its all gone flat in the last year or so for Ellis, hes shown glimpses of bing good but more often than not has looked very poor.

It was Lindsey that brought him to the club originally and they get on well so its a natural progression and he is a Kent boy so its much closer to his home and family.

Funnily enough I thought he was awful for most of last season but when we were worse without him I did start to wonder if we should keep him!

I think you are right we were worse but when i look back that was only because we ended up with Cain who joined with 16 games experience to somehow be our most experienced midfielder. Players like Cain and GM desperately need a experienced couple of midfielders with them this season, not only for the team but for their own progression

Appears we might get some player news next week -

''Been away on a few short trips already as well as a family holiday. As far as putting the phone away for a bit - no chance! I've been working hard this summer, even though it doesn't look like that at the moment with no signings.

Things are coming along nicely behind the scenes, and I'm happy with the work me and my staff are doing. Wayne Hatswell is doing work at the training ground today. Hopefully I have news before the players return on Wednesday''

I thought these were the more encouraging answers:

Delighted the others have signed new deals earlier. Flynn confirms he has already spoken to players who he does not see as part of his plans. "Never say never, because it's football and you don't know what will happen."

Flynn states there will be ins and outs this summer. Wants his own players in.

MF wants to address the spine of the team first, that's as specific as he'd like to be right now. Says it's quite a young team aside from Charlie Austin and Frazer Blake-Tracy. Not just going to sign a player because he's experienced, they have to be of the desired standard as well.

In fairness he speaks really well about most topics. Fine's for players coming back ''overweight''.

look how many games we typically get out of him in a season.

it's possible that's all behind him, but we can't afford to take that chance if an offer comes up
