Yes it's odd. It's a conclusion completely unsupported by the rest of the article which just says people have enquired about him. If someone makes a decent offer for someone we signed on a free six months ago, and is pretty much a journeyman EFL player into the latter part of his career, with some medical / injury issues in the past, then I can see why we might cash in. If he maintains his pattern from the last 6/7 years he'll be in the treatment room for most of next season anyway! If we've options identified to replace him then it would make sense. But at this stage of the season it would have to be a replacement you had some faith in. Use the money to sign Tomlinson and shift FBT inside and I think we'd all cope. |
