I'd be sad to see Reed go. just coming back into form too.

but commercial realities and all that

joniesta would be a more worrying exit

Reed has been gradually improving. Khan probably offers more and is certainly more of a ball winner. If Reed wants to go then I would let him as he is probably on a decent wage and having unhappy players might unsettle their squad.

Yeah would not be surprised to see him sold in Jan, if they can get anything for him. He is never going to sign a new contract given what is said to have happened, or what his agent has said has happened.

Someone said there could be a few out when at the game on Monday.

What is meant to have happened to Reed?

I think Reed looks good in a good team, and poor in a poor one. Not sure his game is one which elevates an XI by himself

I think thats fair. He moves the ball well but needs options, but in the midfield trio, and front three. Sadly we have not been very good at that this season, outside of Gladwin and Williams.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Jephcott go back to Plymouth and replaced with a big burly centre forward along with wakeling and Austin to give us more options. More presence needed in midfield as others have said like a tough tacking Anthony Grant type, a left sided attacking player who can cross the ball into the box and Brandon Cooper back In defence would be great!

Wasn't this season's big unit up top supposed to Adeloye?
Unfortunately, he's less Allison, more Pericard

I believe that the midfield is the biggest issue.  We need at least 2 quality signings to substantially improve what we currently have.  A decent ball winning midfielder is a must.

Lucky the transfer window is open next week to rectify!

Yep. I just look at the succesful period at the end of last season leading to the playoffs.

We played 433. Had Gladwin and Williams in the midfield 3, with Reed. So we had creativety there, and people who could pick a pass and move the play up the pitch. On Monday we had Iandolo and Darcy. Niether are anywhere close to Williams/Gladwin.

Then we had Barry and McKirdy out wide who could both take people on, create something from nothing. With Davison in the middle to occupy people.

We are so far lacking in quality compared to that, and even what we have doesnt fit great. Williams being much better in midfield imo than in the front 3.

I actually think Darcy is decent. He is a willing runner with good technical skill who tries to make things happen. His long range shots were key against Newport at home and I would like to see him do that a bit more (although I know he has tried to replicate it since that match with less impressive results). Darcy drove the ball across from the right which led to Iandolo’s goal against Walsall. He hasn’t been up to the high standards that Payne set last year but I feel we could do a lot worse.
