Not sure you can compare selling HM with Shearer and Fjortoft - We've dropped so low now that we don't even appear to have the ambition to try to keep decent div 4 players, it's thoroughly depressing.

I'm not remotely depressed about losing him. He is the least likeable goal scorer we have ever had in my opinion. Be gone.

The depressing thing is really the lack of faith we have in the current football management at the club to both replace him, and to have found him a partner before now as well.

Let's see at the end of the day.

It is the lack of ambition that hurts. Pay off all debt blah blah blah and be playing in the National League at this rate  Crash

Yeah they have done a very poor job since the summer to inspire the fans much, either with staff recruitment, player acquisition or just the general vibe about going one better than last season.

Presume stats and data have got us Clayton, Darcy, Khan, Wakeling etc. Sure there may be a couple of duds as well, but those 4 will make the club money in the future and, hopefully, make the club successful in the meantime.

one would hope that clem and sandro etc made a lot of signings hoping that it would be enough and wanted to see how the season starts out. they have now seen that its nowhere near enough and tomorrow is a very busy day

I personally hope the club does some incredible business but trolls the fans by not announcing anything until after the deadline with pictures clearly taken hours before.

I'd go one step further and say nothing til the squad is released at 2pm on Saturday

I was quite chill regarding the quality at the top end of the pitch earlier this summer.

I bought into the whole 'have to be patient, player wage demands will lower the deeper into the window' bla bla bla

Clubs will let players go once they have replacements bla bla bla

I'm finding it harder to believe though that with virtually one day left, anything we do tomorrow isn't just completely off the cuff and in the spur of the moment.

If we finally get our man after waiting 2 months, then fair enough, but a bit of a coincidence it'll happen on deadline day.
