If a 19 year old keeper and striker that is injured for the next 3 months are our only incomings then that will be pretty laughable to be fair. I’m still hoping another striker with an actual presence is coming …

When there is reason to be, it would be quite nice for the club to generate some excitement for the season and show some ambition. Neither of those signings would do either at the minute.

I have to agree with you there. The fans have put the money in as the club requested, appreciate we have some debts etc but the club need to show some ambition back. With the signings made so far I’m not sure that’s happened.

He’s right though - whoever we sign ISNT GOOD ENOUGH EVER. We should have kept *insert name of player* who last season WASNT GOOD ENOUGH but now somehow is, now he doesn’t play for us anymore…

The next day will determine whether we finish mid table or have a chance of top 7.

Don't fuck it up Town.

I'm expecting a striker, left winger and right back.

Oh and don't even think about selling McKirdy. Way too late for that now.

That’s not what I’m saying is it. The team is clearly short in certain positions, if we then just bring in a 19 year old keeper and an injured striker then that’s laughable whichever way you spin it. That’s why I said I a) hope we sign a striker with a physical presence still and b) don’t see Hepburn-Murphy as a McKirdy replacement.

We’ve sold 5100 season tickets this season, any normal club would be looking to build momentum based on this but it’s all a bit ‘meh’ at the moment. These next 2 days are an opportunity to actually show there is ambition for the season ahead.

…and if we had re-sign Hunt & Davison our fans would have been apoplectic and claimed we weren’t showing enough ambition and those players weren’t good enough.

Let’s not forget bar about one or two of us - every else thought Davison was shit and didn’t want him back here.

Both would walk back in to our team now and that is depressing. They'd be squad players in the promotion winning side we thought we might be able to assemble. Its just that we've unfortunately got nowhere near assembling said squad.

They'd actually play more in this squad than the last one considering central striker and right back seem to be our weakest positions.

Are you ever positive?

Its not 'ever' though, is it?

Dose of reality..... It's one win in eight games after taking weeks to appoint a an underwhelming manager who was already at the club, while we're believed to be selling our talisman and facing a real shot at one of our lowest ever finishes, if not the lowest.

That's not fucking 'ever' is it? That's actually pretty fucking far from 'ever'.

Are you EVER negative?

Huddersfield have signed Simpson so it’s a moot point.
He still hasn't signed for Huddersfield, a fee has been agreed but he hasn't agreed terms yet.

Quote
The Championship club have had a bid of around £500,000 accepted by Ipswich for the 20-year-old.

Huddersfield have agreed terms with Simpson and the deal is now expected to be completed

We won't be debt free anyway. It'll be a soft debt to Clem, like when we had Andrew Black.

Better than being threatened with HMRC winding up orders mind.

Hmm, it's the Adver, and just repeating what the Daily Record article said, but I don't like the sound of this:

Meanwhile, Town are apparently resigned to losing their star forward despite the club being in a similar position to their Scottish counterparts in terms of a lack of firepower up front.

So minimum 2 strikers needed in the next 2 days then if this happens. Selling McKirdy and bringing in just one striker when we are already short (injured until December or not) won’t cut it.
