Stay at Town on more money and be adored by the fans or risk going to Charlton where he'll just be another player which the fans might not take to.
Hard to take but we move on.

You mean you’d like to see Garner flop!
As PV pointed out re the number of our current/ ex players associated in rumours and actual transfers, it leaves a bitter taste.

What unemployed players
All three were offered contracts if I have read correctly.
Garner was fully aware of the position Swindon was in with all their contracted and end of contract players.
Simply insider trading and taking advantage of an employer who gave a fuckwit a chance after he fucked up at Rovers.
If you think all is fair in love and war. Well, we are on a different page.

Offered contracts isn’t being employed. They were offered better ones. What’s the problem.

Yes they are unemployed. Their STFC contracts have expired, hence unemployed

They are Swindon 2nd team with Jojo, Egbo, Payne, DJ and Davison already so if they add Reed and McKirdy then that would be 7 ex Town players there!
I have a couple of mates support Charlton and they are never happy with the players they have got it seems, constantly moaning. Good fanbase but my god they can whinge.
TBF I would imagine that if we employed a manager from the National League and he then proceeded to sign a shed load of players from his team at that level which achieved the square root of fuck all that season our fans would be going apoplectic!

Wouldn’t say Payne has really pissed us about. Would have been nice to have kept him, but realistically the second Khan was signed, it effectively confirmed his departure. What does surprise me, however, is the level of respect a lot of last seasons side clearly had for Garner. To take a reduced contract in comparison to what he was going to get here, just to play for Garner suggests he was highly rated by a lot of last seasons team. Obviously there’s the pull of playing in a higher division, but I’m sure he would have had other (and potentially better) offers from L1 clubs. For all of his tactical faults, would seem he could create a very healthy environment within a squad.

Do you think Payne might have resigned here if he'd not had an offer from Charlton?

Alleged lower wage. Not sure I believe that for a second. Plus it could be a lower basic wage with a decent appearance / assist / goal bonus meaning he’d be earning more

Absolutely, the team we had last season did well but didnt exactly set the world on fire. But I do understand Garner going for players he knows and can trust.
