Well, yes, but thinking logically clubs expect their loaned players to get game time. We’re hardly likely to be signing perms for money and not playing them. I can’t really see a position in the starting XI where we haven’t got what I would presume would be a regular starter. If McKirdy/Reed leave then probably yes.

Be interesting to see if those 2 play this afternoon

I see what you’re saying and in some way it goes along the lines of my thoughts. As has been said some of our squad will likely go out on loan which may make room for a body or three if, there was not the caveat to play every week. However, as you said a club higher up is not going to want to send a player out on loan anywhere unless they get regular game time, unless they’re a troublesome twat who they want off their books sometime soon or someone they’re not 100% sure about.

Still nice position to be in for a change.

There are different types of loan; the expectation is that a youngster from a bigger club comes to develop and play a lot of football to benefit the parent club but the expectation of loaning a Doyle, for example, is that he's off the wage bill as he's not in the managers plans.  Developing players into their late 20's or 30's is not the purpose of getting them out on loan, especially if they only have a year left on their contract so have no resale value if they perform well.

He is…

I assume Shade / Hutton / Devine will occupy the wing back roles with Iandolo as an option if we end up short due to injuries & suspension.

If anything it adds some excitement because none of us have a clue as to what these players will actually do.

I am waiting for a report from an Ayr fan on Tomi Adeloye and will update once known.

The delay in Payne signing and the fact that it’s gone very quiet since Monday is making me feel his agent is pushing for another league one club.
Informed last week our offer and Crawley were matched and us in pole position. Crawley cooled a little in week but this is agents talk.

Are we now at the point where the club say, enough is enough & we move on.

We have to be close to it - if we haven’t already.
In theory that’s potentially around the 5k a week mark of wages just sitting there

Remeao, Remeao where for art though Remeao.

To see his quality as an attacker look no further than our game at Barrow whe he had essentially an assist against us, hes the number 24 in the clip. Hes apparently far better attacking than defending, very quick but he had apparently a huge long throw which is a different option especially having a player up front who can head a ball in Adeloye.

1:27 the number 24 breaking that has the shot.

I have watched a few of Tomis games for Ayr on highlights and he seems to be very big, strong and decent in the air but has a few bites of the cherry when shooting, has a very high xG which is probably why we signed him TBH.

This was Tomi at Barnet, hes the number 21 and plays the proper target man role.

Reminds me of Theo Robinson.

He also won Ayr player of the season last season after scoring 14 goals in 28 games.

Tomi at Ebbsfleet.

You would have thought so.
Thought the deadline was last Monday hence my previous more confident post.
2 league one clubs showed an interest and dropped out I am led to believe, positive vibes coming from player.

A week on and nothing plus the incoming signings, doesn’t look promising but this is an agent dicking around and ultimately and improved offer to Payne is on the table.
Without doubt him signing would really raise the bar this coming season.
Can only but hope now but fading.

Payne loves this club, I’ll be very surprised if he signs for Crawley Town for similar wages just to play in front of less than 2K crowds. It’s a step back which ever way you look at it. Personally I think the deal is already done and will be the last signing the club announce, a sort of cherry on top if you like 👍
