The thought of direct pace through the midfield has me quite excited. As good as our midfield were last season we were fairly predictable which I think hindered us in home games where teams simply sit in and take their chances trying to catch us on the break.

To have the option of someone like Khan being able to break lines with forward runs adds a whole new element to our attacking play.

Bring on the season.

Really encouraging that we aren't just targeting free agents. To go after contracted players really does mean there's a proper thought process about the type of player we want. Just hope this isn't all being done to soften the blow of losing Reed / McKirdy.

Be a lot of effort in vein if it is. If we keep them both then I feel pretty good about the season ahead.

That's the spirit... Every silver lining has a cloud... Should be the STFC motto😂

Hutton from Barrow.

44 games and 4 assists. Right back.

Looks another quality bit of business on paper. Last 2 or 3 have been very impressive imo.

Who was the last box to box player we had who could do a bit of everything and chip in with goals?

Probably Louis Thompson.

Him as RWB and Shade as LWB. Yes please! Some feedback from a Barrow fan....

was really looking forward to him playing a more attacking role. He played right wing back most of last season - great going forward, can't defend at all.

He was handed number 7 and looked like he'd be playing wide of a front 3, but doesn't quite fit a 4-3-3 which Wild seems to be setting us up for.

If you want a wide man to run at defences and drill low crosses in, he should be great. If you want him on the right of a back four then he'll get rinsed every time.

Be looking to play him right wing back. Shade on the other side?

Hutton supposedly a good attacking but poor defensively. Bit like Nathan Byrne?

Think as long as wing backs have enough pace to get into position and close gaps out wide it doesn't matter too much if they arent Maldini.

Players being signed to fit a definite style and system. Lovely stuff.

Good couple of days work in the transfer market. A striker and then we are done?

If we are lucky we might get some news about that soon.

seem like a couple of reasonable signings today

got a good feeling about khan for no real reason. normally at 26 with no league experience I'd be a bit skeptical. But he's clearly done well at chesterfield.

definitely need a striker or two.
