Yes. Anybody who plays every single game up front for a team as good as ours is going to score some goals. So well done there. It's important to provide context. We average more possession than any other team by a distance. We've created the 4th highest amount of big chances in the league. We average 14 shots per game which puts us in the top 3. We sit 6th overall on XG. Simpson's minutes per goal ratio doesn't even put him in the top 20 players in the division. We can do better. |

But isn't Simpson a big reason why we are creating so many chances?! It's not like his a fox in the box striker, he's an essential part of building an attack, creating space for others etc |

It makes you wonder if we need a Nicky Ajose type striker to feed off him. |

have we had more prolific strikers than Simpson? yes.
is he doing a pretty good job? yes.
are there better strikers than Simpson? obviously
are there worse strikers than Simpson? obviously
do we need a back up, or another striker to add competition and cover for injury and suspensions? yes
are we likely to bring in an experienced/proven striker? no
that's all I have to say about that. A Tyler Smith type would be useful but hard to get.
