I find it amusing when people seemingly think we're not after a striker simply because we've signed players in other positions. As has been said, GP signed pretty late on, Grant (not a striker obviously but player of the season in L2) was also a late signing.  Business can and will be done later in the window.

This has been doing my nut in for a week now, I’m fairly certain the management team know we could do with a striker for 2. Thankfully they are waiting for the right one as opposed to any donkey available

Exactly that plus nearly every other lower league team will be looking for the same

I think this is a case of Garner attempting to maybe 'force a players hand. We will have made an offer/s but we are probably seeing a case of forwards sounding out all offers and options, with them knowing that teams who get off to a slow start will panic and make a better offer. Its risky for the player, but if the basic offered by us is only 1.3k then unless as stated we are offering significant additional add on's - we are probably not that attractive a proposition. I can only see us landing a journeyman or player who has perhaps another season left in the tank. I wonder what Paul Benson is up to lately  Beers

Ben Gladwin, Louis Reed, and Johnny Williams found us attractive enough.

I agree but I think forwards are different, stocks is a bit higher. Any forward coming to us should be licking lips at the service we should be able to provide into the box. I do think forwards are a different breed altogether. Did Nicky Ajose surface anywhere?

Can we still sign loan players after the window shuts for a few weeks? Is it a different deadline or is that no longer a thing?

Louis Reed promotion winner season before with Posh and J Williams fresh out the championship and Wales EURO squad, whether it be a coach, goalkeeper or striker, we are clearly an attractive proposition.

Clearly because we have a way to pay these players handsomely and because they also buy into the ambitions of the club. We have been told maintaining L2 status is the objective but I cannot imagine the caliber of some of these players are doing such for charity.

Agree, no chance players are being told this is a survival season. Once the number 9 target comes in this team will be one of the strongest in the league on paper.
