With Grant it will also be about wages.   Is he value compared with other options BG is aware of?   We have no idea about that.

Suspect he will want more than £1,200 pw so can't sign him till embargo is lifted

I get the wages and fitness and if any doubt in either you wouldn't offer him back but based on ability, verstality and experience for league 2 never in doubt for me even if he's only on the bench.

Comments on Odimayo interesting. Doubt he’d speak that highly of him if he wasn’t confident he was signing…

I think you have to read between the lines:

- Limit on what we can offer at the moment due to embargo
- Grant and McKirdy named (rather than Triallist A & B)
- Manager says he needs a little more time to make a decision

The same is probably true of Odimayo. But either way, I suspect we will sign the CB triallist, who may be Cory Jordan. He looked solid.

I'm torn about the other trialists. At the time I thought the first half striker at Weymouth, stated as being Mikael Ndjoli, didn't look that great. I think I said that he looked like a non-league player trying very hard. Well, he was much better than anything else on offer in the second half and they seemed to be trying too.

If you cast aside the trialists from the last two games for a few moments, all but a handful of the identified targets of BG & BC apparently still have not signed for anyone. Now unless I am mistaken we only have the Posh PSF game to go before we kick a ball in anger in just under two weeks. So you’d like to think with the squad such as it is that this week and next week should be extremely busy with players coming in. The embargo is being addressed and part one of two has been cleared and part two is being worked on with haste so get ready for a steady stream of new players coming in, what with the stated desire to spend this week working with the ‘squad’ in terms of explaining what we want and how we’re going to execute it they need to get a move on, which I’m sure they are of course.

Would be extremely surprised if we sign a player trying to get in a prem squad when we expect to be towards the  bottom of league 2.   We had Alzate when we were expecting to challenge and he'd just been signed from orient.
