I cannot remember who it was, but someone on here really disliked him, bet they are over the moon.

Meh, didn’t produce enough for us.

Be that his talent or our team - who knows, time will tell.

I do think its a bit of a tough one really, it can't be easy for people to read such negative stuff about someone they love. But at the same time you have to understand in the industry of being a footballer, taking criticism is going to be part and parcel, especially on Social Media.
Especially if you are shit !!!.

well, quite!

I think many others have said that if the rumours are true that he's only playing because of his old man, then TC must have the brassiest of brass necks. Perhaps he actually thinks he is good enough to play league 1 football.

Its a very very strange situation.

Surprised no one has crocked him in training yet if they are so unhappy, probably helps him if contact is limited outside match days in terms of avoiding training ground 'bantz'.

I said he reminded me of Brophy for us, all pace and no end product. I got fed up of watching him smash the ball into the first man with every cross.

He may go on to have a good career but ultimately he's 23, not a young kid and for whatever reason he was poor for us like a lot of the players have been.

Definitely a footballer in there with Johnny Smith and we never had the chance to see it.
Bad luck with both injuries and a Manager that will not take a chance with a flair player.
Wellens without doubt would have got a tune out of him as he did with Isgrove and I would go as far to say that Smith has more potential. Sure his end product has been questioned, however he was one player that looked capable of being able to go past a defender.
Now we sit back and listen to what a success he has been at Burton.

Meanwhile Curran finds a new position as an out and out winger.
Seriously good luck to Johnny and his Dad who was brave to post on this site.

J Smith is one of those that i think had Wellens stayed would have been a much better player for us. Consider the work he did with Woolery/Anderson last season for example.

He has suffered from having the depressed geriatric cretin take over both in terms of his individual coaching and the way the team played. Pressing high up was key for this lad to work. Not playing him at left wing back and expecting him to run 60 yards with the ball.

Its all been said. He's not the finished article (which was why he was here) but has the potential to go much further than we do!

Disappointed to lose a flair player

I singled out his disappointing performances which stirred things up a bit, but wouldn't call it "really disliked".

As others have said, he looked full of promise but just didn't deliver. A different team in a different season and I'm sure we would've seen a completely different player.

I wish him well, but it just didn't click for him at Swindon.

But he has a left foot, he must be able to play there.............

It's a weird one really as i do see a player there and will not be suprised to see him do ok at Burton but on the flip side he is nearly 24 now he needs to really start kicking on as he is hardly a prospect anymore

Haha spot on.

It's all well and good putting a team on the back foot by running at them but it's no good if you just give them the ball at the end.
