In that situation would we be better of with Smith or another midfield & another strike?

I choose option 3; a new long-term contract and large payrise for Curran

Hope it’s not us, but Exeter say a L1 club have made an enquiry for Ryan Bowman.

I’m starting to think we are genuinely being trolled.
If indeed this is the case then for no other reason at all he should be sacked, how can Power support a manager who would rather troll fans than play his strongest team and try and win?

For a professional that just doesn't make sense that he will put the club in more danger of relegation just to upset a loyal and currently angry fanbase.

Personally I think if there is even a hint of that then he has no integrity at all.

The worst part is that none of us can say 100% that this isn't happening at the club.

Getting rid of M.Smith pretty much makes no sense under any and every scenario except one.

Wages.

I have no idea how much Arsenal pay him. I have no idea what % we are paying him.
However, let’s say it’s a big % and Sheridans line of thinking is - we could send M.Smith back and get another loan player and a permanent signing instead.

In that situation would we be better of with Smith or another midfield & another strike?
It depends upon whether we were a better team with a different loan player and striker.

If we got in two substandard players for one who played brightly earlier in the season (but seems to have 'lost form' when played in a different role for a different manager) then probably not. But if of equal standard then you would think 2 is probably better than 1.

J.Smith's loan has been terminated.

I know many don't rate him but I think this is a shame.

A look at his highlights from last season and the fantastic reports from Oldham fans tells you the potential of this kid. I appreciate he's not delivered as we'd have hoped this season, but I can't help but feel we've let go a decent young player who, with good management, would have been an asset to us.

All the best to him and his Dad.

I think its a huge shame, he was treated shoddily by Town and has obviously loads of talent it just never clicked at Swindon, good luck for the future Jonny.

Everything went to shit after his dad was told to go to Los Gatos. Co-incidence?

After his tremendous goal against Charlton in the league cup I think everyone was thinking we have some player on our hands. Under Wellens you could see glimpses of what he was capable of, but his final shot would be narrowly over or wide and unfortunately this seemed to be a consistent problem. I think he needed one of those to go under the bar and he would have been off and running but clearly his confidence took a knock and he got injured and we just never saw what I am sure he is capable of. It will be interesting to see where Bristol City loan him next.

All the best to him and Rapidflyer, who I thank for taking his time to come on here and give his thoughts. Some of the stuff written about Jonny couldn't have been easy to read so fair play to him for becoming part of this forum.

There's a player in there for sure that we didn't see the best of. I wonder if he's a little bit like a Paul Pogba who makes an already good team great, but isn't so good when asked to pull a struggling side up by their bootstraps. I think if he'd been with us last year he'd have been a huge fan favourite.

That said, think it's probably best for him to find another side at this point, our new 'tactics' definitely won't suit him and I'm sure he'll have other options.

Pretty sure he’ll go on to bigger and better things. I liked him. He could make things happen out of nothing and those players don’t come around too often. If he works on his final ball and finishing he’ll be some player. Good luck to him.

If his Dad has any inside info on the shambles going on at the club, let us know  Bye

Dissapointed we've sent J Smith back, definitely a good player there but if Sheridan doesn't rate him then best he goes back and get another loan where he plays often.

All the best to him.

Or if he can get Curran's dad to sign up and join the fun on here!
