Can you imagine if Smith goes back to Arsenal, and they ask how was it at Swindon, and he says “It was ok for a while, then we had to drop experienced players, with a lot of league experience, to accommodate a youngster, whom unfortunately lacks a bit of skill, and together with some dubious reasons for that selection, it makes it difficult in a struggle for points.” What are the Arsenal coaching staff going to think of all that. We certainly will not be getting any more young gunners. They will probably think we are a joke club.

If he's the next Gazza they won't dwell on it for a second and farm him into the Championship.  Grin

If you actually read my previous posts I have stated several times that I think a move to the Championship is probably a step too far at the moment in his development, he would be better off getting game time with us or at ths level, he won't walk into any Championship level side as it stands.

Much as you like to think so, it's not all about you. I don't read all you posts or everyone else's for that matter.

I dip in an out and replied to "Daddyo4624" whilst skipping through the latest updates.

Not sure why i need to explain but there you go.

I am not going to lose sleep over Matt Smith going back to Arsenal. He is not the player he was at the start of the season, his body language is very poor and his passing accuracy has deteriorated. A fit Antony Grant, if such a thing is possible, is needed in that midfield...

We cant play 5 at the back as we don't currently have the personnel.

I have stated previously that Sheridan doesn't want the loans here that were previously brought in and will make it more difficult for them to play. He's said they can go. 2 x Smith have gone and another will follow; he's better off at a better loan club anyway. Somewhere his ability can be developed and utilised much more.

A. Grant, from what I know...will be very surprised if he hasn't gone by the end of the window. He only promised to sign for Wellens. His main loyalty is with him, so don't be surprised if his preferred location is Media City FC...

Unfortunately, 5 at the back is what Sheridan has decided he wants to play for the rest of the season (or for as long as he is here). I had direct confirmation of this from two sources. 5 into 3. A combo of 5-3-2 to 3-5-2 (Wing Backs).

Take what you want from any of that with a pinch of whatever your favourite seasoning is but of 8 potential outgoings I mentioned, it's nearly 5 confirmed. Twine will be sold.

We're (as it stands and without change) fucked.

Matt Smith reminds me of a young Gazza, I saw Gazza play for Newcastle as a rough and raw 18 year old and Matt has similar characteristics, he can dribble, pass, run shoot and press tackle, a real all rounder with an older head on his shoulders than his years.

He can't quite drop the shoulder (yet) like Gazza did but the characteristics in that first summary paragraph are very similar to the notes shared to me from the Arsenal Dev Coach I have spoken too. Except they were mentioning early similarities with Ray Parlour (naturally). One of those kind of players who every team should fit into their squad.

Except the "Tuesday Club" probably means something like a few players playing FIFA/PES together  now.

Thinking of that, I do wonder about the now long forgotten Cameron McGilp/McGlip...I have a sneaky feeling that Town supporters would much rather fund Town's own eSports player than fund a racehorse owners son; aka Taylor "ego massager" Curran... Hmmm

They're just trolling us now aren't they?

I’m starting to think we are genuinely being trolled. Why else would he be benching any of the half decent players we have, contrive a game plan which involves hoofing it up to a midget striker (or Brett Pitman - same thing really), replace a quick young striker with another quick young striker and then state “he offers us something different”, publicly state you might send back our young loanee with the most appearances this season who has been one of the only bright sparks all season, rip up a footballing team full of footballing players, lay into the players when they can’t figure out your fucking shit awful game plan, start giving the young “defender” game time when he’s quite clearly nowhere near the standard required for a professional footballer at the expense of another bright spark this season (AO) then vehemently defend the ducking embarrassment who shouldn’t be anywhere near the first team squad?! Plus getting rid of a player who, although might be past his best has been heavily involved with two promotion campaigns and could be labelled as one of only a few players who is experienced at a higher level and appears to give a shit about the club?

He should not be at this club. Absolutely nowhere fucking near it. I will 100% not spend another penny towards this club while he’s still here.

I don’t think it’s trolling, just he is such a terrible manager it’s hard to comprehend. Didn’t Wigan fans think the same about him? I bet many of the other clubs he has managed/destroyed have had similar opinions too about the twat.

Getting rid of M.Smith pretty much makes no sense under any and every scenario except one.

Wages.

I have no idea how much Arsenal pay him. I have no idea what % we are paying him.
However, let’s say it’s a big % and Sheridans line of thinking is - we could send M.Smith back and get another loan player and a permanent signing instead.

In that situation would we be better of with Smith or another midfield & another strike?

Well, that would be ideal but the bizarre scenario we have at Town which will see us having two loan strikers that aren't really wanted by the manager! The Norwich lad Omotoye, brought in to cover T.Smith...and in another episode of "The More You Know...", well it's...err...Tyler Smith.

Fucking bananas. Hoky Koky levels of "in-out-in-out-ya shake it all about" and adds a great emphasis on "The Swindon way".
