They are Sheridan's words, it has nothing to do with Wellens. The lad has scored three goal of the season contenders, 7 in 24 from midfield and is being tracked by Championship clubs.

Given that, why would you want to play for a bloke when the best thing he can say about you is that you are "another body"

I’d suggest his affinity for wanting to play STFC might have gone out the window in August when Wellens told him he wasn’t good enough for our squad then signed complete wank instead.

"He's another body" - the John Sheridan motivational masterclass strikes again

The full quote was

Quote
He's done well, and he's scored one or two goals. He's a bit different to what we've got, and he's another body,” said Sheridan on New Year’s Day.

Which doesn't sound bad.

But then

Quote
He's going to come back here now and compete for a place in the side. I wouldn't bring him back for him to think he's going straight back in the side.

He's Swindon's player, but he's coming back to compete and fight for a place in the side.

Which is fair enough, but if I were Twine I'd be pushing to go to a club that definitely wants to play him!

Or maybe Sheridan is trying to throw Ipswich off, the master tactician at work, mwhaha, mwhahahaha

Sheridan has done poorly and is probably lucky to still be in a job but trying to read negative stuff into every fucking thing he says is tiresome.

I bet the poor cunt couldn't order a pint without being accused of being a terrible person.

its still quite staggering the impact he has had an Newport. if he had left on a free to Newport 6 months ago I dont think anyone would have minded.

the transformation for the lad has been unbelievable and all credit to him. you look at some young players and you can see class straight away and I definitely thought his development was way off the mark and having been promoted that was him done.

now we are in a doyle situation but like bradford did we just have to see if it can work for us first before we sell. he is worth more than £75k if he can give us the lift for new results. you would hope Sheridan has looked through his Newport games and worked out how to use best.

As for Twine, I think I'd probably sell him if it helps us to stay afloat until we get new owners. That is if we need the money that badly.

You can guarantee Power will not be undersold.

He will drain every penny he can out of Newport, I fully expect a fee of around £150k plus add ons.

Only a terrible person would go to a pub in a national lockdown. Boo Sheridan

If we were thinking long term, letting Newport have him with a  Cox-esque whacking great sell on % might not be a bad shout as he's clearly onto a good thing there and thriving in their system. But long term thinking isn't really likely at the moment, so sell him for a bit of money up front and reinvest that/use it to pay the bills, unless he's going to be going into the first team. No point bringing him back just out of spite.

Have seen nothing in the highlights to suggest he is any better than Kovar TBH.

I am sure we have other target keepers lined up.
On the bees forum they seem very surprised they have let him go as he was their only left back backup.

Spot on, Twine himself has to take a huge amount of credit for his resilience if nothing else

We'd get 50-100k at tribunal in the summer. Only sell him if it's £500k+ to a Champ team.

Have Newport actually got money to spend? Surely like most lower league clubs they can't afford to pay transfer fees?

Either way if he's sold it's sure to be undisclosed😁
