Wait to see if Newport’s bid sparks interest from other clubs. Then sell with a reasonable sell-on fee clause. Hopefully the sale can then finance one or two new players who Sheridan thinks can help get us out of the relegation zone.
Having said that, I’d like to see if Twine could make a difference for us, not that he’d necessarily be chuffed about it.

According to one of those efl hub twitter pages:
Norwich, QPR, West Ham and Brentford all keen on Scott Twine
Another page also says he doesnt want to return from Newport
Is it just me that thinks this smacks of Power calling on his mates to drive up the price for Twine? London clubs and Norwich, 2 of which he definitely has ties with and one we regularly seem to sign players from. Gotta be something in it.

The full quote was
Which doesn't sound bad.
But then
Which is fair enough, but if I were Twine I'd be pushing to go to a club that definitely wants to play him!
Or maybe Sheridan is trying to throw Ipswich off, the master tactician at work, mwhaha, mwhahahaha
Sheridan also has to think about the current players who will be shuffled to fit him in if he plays. Trying to motivate what we have must be a Herculean task as it is. That said, Scott will at the least be on the bench v the tractor boys. Edit. If he does play two or three games before the window closes and sets the world on fire Newport can kiss him goodbye either way.

If we play Twine, he can’t play for anyone other than us or Newport. Does that reduce his value? Any other team would have to loan him back and in the present situation, would they want too? Perhaps the first thing we should do is extend his contract

Have Newport actually got money to spend? Surely like most lower league clubs they can't afford to pay transfer fees?
They are in FA Cup 3rd Round so have probably made a bit from that but it will probably be a deal made up of lots of add-on's that has the potential to reach e.g. £75k wherever he goes.

Scott Twine situation feels a bit like what we had with Billy Bodin. Came through the ranks, a few good performances and goals but also pushed out on loan as the manager didn't rate him.
Bodin eventually came good i.e move to Preston for good money but had to go via Torquay and Bristol Rovers. We took the Torquay cash and it took Bodin a few years (with injuries etc) to get to that level.
Are we prepared to invest further time in Twine for his development or cash in now? Personally I would play him for a month and see where he is at in League One then retain or send back to Newport
Would be better to do that, even if it doesn't come off, than struggle for goals and have your own player on loan scoring for fun whilst you go down.

If Newport want him that desperately, there must be enough about him to warrant a place in our team. Have you seen the shite we've been serving up over the last few weeks?!

Of course, it's quite possible that if he doesn't want to play for us, he creatively "goes missing" like Doyle did for his month back at Bradford. In that case, with the potential of a reduced price from Newport or elsewhere due to him being two-club-tied, we might decide to sit on him and wait for offers this month.
As has been noted, the starting-point would be what we'd expect to get for him by tribunal in the summer, plus a sell-on.

Scored a goal as well!
Played 3 PL games, 1 Championship game and a full Irish cap.
Sounds decent.

This peaked my interest!
He joined Weymouth on loan in August 2017, scoring on his debut.
