Woolery does not have a contract with us. He is currently not our player. Why would we re-sign him if we don't want him?

So we have possibly Broadbent, Hope, Palmer and Woollery as being high earners who could be sacrificed, though it’s fair to say Woolery may be walking before he is pushed as such. I’m not sure that we are as cash strapped as is being made out concerning the budget. RW has a knack of sowing the seeds of doubt and misinformation. There could be some departures other than Woolery but the money to get four more in either as loans or permanent with or without a transfer fee must either be there now or will be there with a bit of pack shuffling however that looks. If and as it seems it is a big if that Norwood rocks up then you’ll know there is money for the ‘right’ player/s.

Ipswich paper saying we are no longer after Norwood, but now looking at Will Grigg

He's probably our best RB, Wellens mentioned getting rid of some that are high earners but not playing much. I doubt caddis will fall into that category.

He just doesn’t seem to have been given much game time over pre-season. Unless I’ve missed something and he’s been injured? He also looked overweight in the photos I have seen of him.

Is Broadbent really on that much? Agree that he's likely to be on his way out tho

I would definately say Hope, Palmer and Broadbent. The only reason Caddis would leave is if he has a fall out with Wellens as he only recently signed a new contract to the end of this season, hes way off fitness at the moment but is a big asset for the club.

Hope and Palmer don't really seem to have kicked on since signing making Wellens HAVE to pick them and broadbent seems to have fallen well out of favour in the last year since his woeful run of games early last season. I noticed he has not been given a squad number either much the same as McGilp and Reid who have both also been told they can leave.

I would like Woolery to stay stillas he is somethign we don't have at the club, a natural right footed wide attacker, DJ, Payne and Smith are all predominantly left footers. If he leaves then we could do with a wide right footed player. The only right footed striker we have is Hope and he doesn't seem to be near the 1st team starting slots.

That would be a surprise, given that Hunt is our only other decent right back and Caddis is one of the most experienced heads, so cant see it myself.

Reid and Mcgilp are the 2 we already know have been told they can find other clubs. The additional ones are likely to be 2 of Hope, Palmer and Broadbent, who are unlikely to be near the first XI when everyone is fit.

Wellens wants an experienced and dominant centre half, a box to box midfielder,  a winger (Woolery?) and centre forward.

Basically wants to replace league 2 players with league 1 players to have a shot at the play offs, which you cant argue with.

Regardless.

I like how he spoke about how we need xxx if we are to have a shot at back to back promotions. They're still hoping for good things (again) this season.

I would think that Broadbent would be on a decent wage, he came to us from L1 Rovers and they were allegedly paying Bennett £5k pw as the previous manager(Clarke) didn't mind spending a bit on wages so for Broadbent to have left them we must have offered him a decent wage close to what he was on there.

I thought about Broadbent, but figured we are so injury prone back there, and omniomniom is young that maybe we'd keep him.

that said, is he still injured or what?

completely forgot about mcglip.

Who in your opinion are our disposable high earners? Genuine question.

I'm struggling. I guess Reid and Hope are senior players, but beyond that? I wonder if an unexpected sacrifice will be made.

There will be a couple out of the door but there should also be a cash injection from the Bogle sale to Sheff Utd.
Yes it was undisclosed but surely they have to declare the fee when there is a vested interest from previous club etc.  However I am aware we did similar ref Luongo and Gladwin but we must get something.
