Gary Rose was/is a better journo than Morshead. For a time being, the adver was decent and he never really took anything personal. Unlike Sam or Andy Warren.
Let's not forget, Rose was here at a time when he would have to spend all evening going through a 2hr post match interview from PdC and all the baggage that came with it, to have it ready for the following morning. Especially on a Tues night, small window that. No mean feat for a journo and he was a decent bloke too.

(In fairness, Morshead had season two of PDC - the Ritchie exit, the deadline day fiasco, the resignation etc.)
Let's talk about Brett Pitman. Only a month or so older than Doyle but didn't play much the season just gone...

Ollie Hawkins a previous target of ours also released by Pompey.
Christian Burgess also freed, he impressed me at times in the play off with the Pox, big solid defender.
Adam May also released, not surprisingly.

Is he? that is a weird one, decent player. Pompey have also released a promising 20 year old 6 foot 8 centre back called Matt Casey, been out on loan at Havant and Bognor, Pompey fans rate him highly, although they also rated Adam May!

Can't believe he's only 32. I assumed he was late 30's as he seems to be have been around forever. Would be a hell of a signing, and a great replacement for Doyle. His goal record doesn't lie.

He’s very pro-EU I think.

I still reckon we'll go after that FGP lad (in some capacity) from West Brom as a SS to Yates. Morton is it?
Two young strikers with decent futures. Yates is better but I wouldn't be upset with the Baggies lad too. Could do much *cough* Ben Hutchinson, Temitope Obadeyi, Elliot Benyon, etc *splutter* worse.

I must admit at the start of the season my preference would have been Pitman over Doyle, but that as they say is history! Apparently he fell out of favour with Kenny Jackett after telling a ball boy to "fuck off" in the play off final vs Sunderland last season.

This isn't me saying that I'm desperate for him to return but I still think Town fans are remarkably harsh on Turnbull.
