Do we really have the funds for this?
“Swindon Town have agreed a fee in the region of £350,000 with Rotherham United to sign striker Jerry Yates permanently. Blackpool are still very keen but Sunderland have cooled their interest slightly.”

Its never the number its quoted. Something similar was thrown around at the time we bought Woolery, but from people i know close to that deal it was never close to that number. Also i would say Power has always shown he will invest in players that he will later claim a percentage of the sell on for. And i do mean him, not the club!

I think this was alluded to in the Standing court case. If that is the case (a) it’s not surprising really, even if it feels wrong instinctively. If he’s funding the clubs losses, he should probably have access to profit. The question is, IS he funding losses, or just holding them ready to pass on when he sells, whilst taking sale revenue off the balance sheet? That isn’t on if so. (b) it means there is no real advantage (for the future of the club at least) in buying the younger players over the older ones for the sake of developing them and selling.

It's nice to see a lot of fans responding with faith in Wellens, but 25 goal strikers aren't easy to replace.
Yes but everyone knows that you only need three 10 goal strikers and an experienced RB to maybe succeed or possibly not at surviving but a 25 goal striker certainly doesn't constitute a formulae for automatic promotion. It's the kind of negativity above that we need to eradicate. Often brought about by over inflated aspirations of thinking Town should be punching above in the higher echelons of a Top 15 finish in Div 3, only to be disappointed. Better to focus on our Football League safety and ensuring Town continue to secure a finish above the lowest one they've ever had in history. In fact, we should be lucky to have a club at all. I propose Town write to the EFL, asking them to reinstate the club to Div 4, void any medals or trophies handed out and award them to Crewe. Town can then battle the Football League, relegation trapdoor of non-league obscurity once again. That kind of thing gets more real ale tickling my lips than any push at a play off season in Div 3 ever could

Replacing centre-forwards feels like a never ending cycle. Luckily there is trust in the manager to bring in an adequate replacements because, as we know, it's not always the case.

The Doyle to Bolton move seems to be a long time in the announcing
Edit
From Bolton
‘Iles says Doyle announcement "Won't be today. Later in week, I hear." Why? "Just that's what has been agreed."
Strange

Would imagine it's because we're announcing stuff this week. Poor fan engagement to let them announce Doyle before we do anything.

Was just writing. "Since when would one club care about another's situation regarding transfer announcements." I get it but it isn't a requirement. Oh and Aud. Would you like a hand getting that Mackerel spinner out of your mouth?

Probably filming all the social media gubbins that tends to go along with announcing signings these days.
