Carlisle fans like him and have been talking about getting him back all summer. Expect a lot of Rotherham fans to call him shit etc but I'd take Carlisle fans opinions over theirs considering the standard of both divisions. One things for sure - we'll need to a big bastard or someone in the target man mould to act as a foil for our smaller lads up front.

Also another who doesn't fit the criteria of the rumoured southern based player. Appears to be plenty in the pipeline behind the scenes.

Decent little compilation from his time at Carlisle. Looks decent with ball at his feet, very lively and also a couple of poachers in there as well.

Not being pedantic, but he’s not actually exCarlisle - he plays for Rovrum and was on loan to Carlisle.

Devitt is ex Carlisle

Suppose Yates is one. The Duke’s mystery man is two.

Other than that, maybe 2 more perms and then the loans.

Wellens says he's leaving the last loan space open for now for a bit of flexibility should we need to change something.

Common sense. It's almost as though the man has a plan.

Hang on. He’s the Swindon manager - we don’t do plans.

It’s putting into perspective Brown’s dreadful recruitment ‘plan’, fo sure.

Do I hear the sound of purse strings being opened?

More like Power dropped his wallet and Wellens got to it first 🤣

Or it's just being spent better.

A smallish-ish squad with players signed for each position, vs 1 winger, 1 fullback, no out and out strikers and a gzillion midfielders.

Based on the YouTube vid he’s a wide striker in a front 3 or small man in a two. An addition to Anderson/Woolery rather than a through the middle striker.

We don't need another one of those.

In Wellen's we trust.

I'm not sure Anderson and Woolery will still be here for the start of the season.

Local Carlisle rag saying Yates is coming here despite them making 3 bids for him.

Although Rovrum would prefer to loan him, I’d expect us to sign him on a perm.

Strange really, as he only has a year left on his contract so he’d go for nothing after any loan - surely it makes sense for them to take money now.

Yates is very similar in style to Anderson, an attacking/wide midfielder who can play up front.

The Carlisle fans like him, the Rotherham fans don't like him.

Rotherham want rid of him, that does leave us with Anderson, Woolery and Yates all vying for a similar starting position if he does arrive. 3 into 1 won't go so if he comes then 1 or both of Anderson and Woolery could well leave.

From the station at Colchester
To the cells of Warrington
From the services at Leicester
To the slums of Northampton

We travel over England
And one day Europe too

Cos we all follow the Swindon
We're the famous Town End crew.

Woolery is a good second striker option. So long as we sign a lump too, Woolery could have a field day next season.

All about flexibility anyway - sometimes 4231, sometimes 442, sometimes 433. Anderson, Woolery, a lump and a nippy wide striker will rotate to suit.
