He mentions hitting the woodwork against Swindon - i’d say that’s as a good as a done deal.

Indeed.
Though in truth the rebuild is huge.
We need at least one destructive hard working midfielder to complement the ball players of Rose, Doughty and apparently May.
The only wide player is McGlashan who he doesn't want.
Plus the left back and forward situation as you say.
Rose came in and did a good job as a defensive midfielder before he got injured, he likes to sit in front of the back 4 and spray out passes. That said as mentioned by Reg that is what Toums excels at when he is fit and picked, failing that Conroy could do the job there if we get another decent centre back in.

The two times I have seen Conroy in that position he has been awful, which is a shame as he could be a good fit in that position with his range of passing. He just looked totally immobile and easy to play through.

The first time I saw it at Sixfields, we should have been 4 down at half time.... like a lot of things a seemingly good idea, but would need a lot of time and patience.

Conroy played there in a game nearer the end of the season, I don't remember but he played quite well in that position, it will take time but he has it in him...if he signs.

Any idea what formation we are going to be playing? I assume something like a 4-4-2 diamond as he has said he wants width and 2 strikers?

I spoke to a mate yesterday who is an Aldershot fan (goes home and away). He reckons that Adam May is a bit special. Only played about 5 games for them last season, scored 2 goals on his debut and was their best player for the 5 games until he got recalled. He reckons that they would not have struggled as much if they would have had him for longer.
I know it is a level down and a different standard but it was good to hear. He even jokingly voted for him in their POTY vote as he said he did more in those 5 games than the rest of the squad for the whole season..
They got relegated but ironically got re-instated last Saturday after Gateshead? got demoted because of breaking numerous rules in the NL.
I work with a Pompey S/T holder. He reckons May is decent but Pompey fans haven't taken to him because he's from Southampton and is a Saints fan.

Bradford about to bring in a striker rumoured to be Clayton Donaldson. Wonder if that will speed up the potential Eoin Doyle signing if we are or ever were interested.

As is oft said in films, it’s quiet, too quite. Then all of a sudden.

Very quiet. Though, if we are after some players currently under contract at other clubs, until they get replacements in they won’t be let go.
Loans are usually back end of the window. Did think by now the Conroy situation would have been resolved and the player Wellens said was close to signing

Northampton the latest club to be linked with Hope and Devitt. Not shocking considering Curle is their manager.
