I just spoke to my Chelsea supporting friend and his exact words were ‘No chance, he’s far to good for Swindon and I’d keep him for the first team’

I've seen a fair bit of Ampadu, mainly for Wales, & he is a seriously big prospect. His long range passing & positional sense are both exceptional. He'll likely struggle with the physical aspect of the game but no doubt that will come over time.

I signed him on Fifa and then won the champions league.

Phil Brown was at Millwall last night in the stands watching a friendly against a Welling side. Checking out two centre backs called Thommo & Ferguson who have been told they can leave.

Not sure either Thompson or Ferguson are defenders. The article in the local press suggests that Sid Nelson, a defender, is available for loan. He has had spells at Newport, Chesterfield and Yeovil. Forum opinions suggest he is a bit of a hot head. Unclear if he’s any good at defending.

Good work LP!

TL;DR -what Fraser said in above post
---
Thought I'd have a look, found a Ben Thompson, but he's listed as a midfielder on the (n)ever reliable wikki.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ben_Thompson_(footballer,_born_1995)

He Played yesterday:

#Millwall XI: Martin, McNamara, M. Wallace, Hanson, Webster, Nelson, Harvey, Thompson, Olaofe, Saunders-Henry, Ferguson.

Shane Ferguson, also a mid according to the unreliable source
https://www.londonnewsonline.co.uk/shane-ferguson-on-target-in-millwalls-1-0-win-at-welling-united/

Sid Nelson, named in both reports as available, could be our man though:

I don’t suppose there was anyone from Welling he might have been tempted to have a little look at perchance?

Shane Ferguson I now know who he went to see. Can play anywhere on the left side, winger or fullback. Played in the premier league with Newcastle & Northern Ireland Internetional.

Why would a team be playing players they are seeking to offload in a friendly, unless fees are involved?

With Welling being the opposition and this close to the kick off could it be they had sent out a confidential communique to clubs indicating that a number of players were available to leave the Lions den? Wether they were available on a transfer for a fee, free transfer or loan the possible motivation to my theory would be to reduce the wage bill and give players a late opportunity to find another club before a ball is kicked in anger.

The game yesterday was Millwall youths and fringe players and I guess all contracted players have to be kept fit.

For the record if it is Shane Ferguson he would definately fit the bill of LWB/LW very experienced and 35 Norn Iron caps.

According to the 'Wall forum they mention PB watching the game and say we could be interested in any one of Sid Nelson, Ben Thompson, Shane Ferguson and Dave Martin who are all available for loans/transfer.

Well Thompson is a midfielder and Martin a keeper, so we can probably rule them out.

If we’re after a Millwall player, any chance it could be Byron Webster? Been out injured for a while and might be available for loan whilst he continues his recuperation

Only if fully fit otherwise no, we have enough of our own crocks.
