Permanent players are over rated in the new age.  Turnbull played for us for 2 years on loan, longer than many perm players have managed and he might make it three!  Doughty will be an 18 month deal in total.  They are as good as permanent by modern standards.

He appears to be right sided CB / RB, so possibly filling in for Branco or even Barry at wing back if he is moved to CB.

According to Transfermarkt, he's played just 2 games at right back. The other 69 were at centre back - including as the left of a pair.

I didn't realise that Doughty was the son of Nigel Doughty

I think it was mentioned on here when he first joined us on loan last season.

EDIT...here.

Other than that, good draw today. Feels like a win. Hope Doughty works out - feels like it's the right time for him to move. Have read some interesting interviews with him, mainly concerning his Dad (Nigel, the Ex Forest Chairman) dying and the impact that has had on his career - sounds the sort of personality any club would want in their squad.

Any good? His goal-scoring record isn't great, but that's not the be all and end all.

Opinion seems split on the gills forum. From 'Good, he's crap' to 'he just didn't get a chance'.

Sounds as though he started OK but then picked up an injury.

From the Gills forum when rotherham were looking at him last week...

I think Norris is badly underrated by some gills fans and I'd be sad to see him go, but if he really has an opportunity in the Championship, good luck to him. Away from the knockers he might just do it.

Hard worker but not a goal scorer is the general feeling I'm getting.

I think they are overplaying how good JET is also.
