That could send Alan over the edge.

I suspect he's already keeled over at the mere thought..

He's been looked at by championship clubs for a while. I really doubt we're offering what any club there could offer.
It's all just speculation though isn't it? By the sounds of it we've actually made a bid so that's seemingly more than anybody else has done. Fwiw 12 goals at this stage of the season in a L2 team is hardly a spectacular return. It wouldn't bother me whichever way this turns out tbh.

Before we go any further....

How do you know what he's available for, and what we're willing to pay?

I don't, neither do you, its based on past "derisory" offers. We'd be breaking the mould if we didn't do the same. Given  Power's MO do you think it was anything other than a piss take amount?

How much is he worth, we can only base on paper talk of interest. Maybe he'll end up in league 1, who knows. What we do know is almost anyone else will offer him more money, we have one of the lowest budgets in the league - FACT!

Are people sure they know what touted means? Scouted? Courted?

But touted? Surely it's Exeter doing the touting?

I wonder if Billy Tout was ever touted  Hmmm

I've never even heard of this cunt until now. Is he genuinely thought of as something special, or is he just some lad that, for whatever reason, has caused a bit of a stir recently? Perhaps even because his name has been mentioned and people have googled him and seen he has a decent scoring record?

Maybe other clubs have looked at him and not fancied it? There's lots of maybes. Elliot Benyon springs to mind. At the end of the day he's a L2 player whose contract runs out at the end of the month yet still for some it's inconceivable to some that we might actually genuinely try to sign him. If he is half decent then I suspect another team will beat us to it, but would people really prefer that we don't even try? Really?
