welcome Michael Jordan.
@skinny Pete - I don't think the standard is higher. but the profile of the club is massively bigger, playing the long game he'll hopefully get himself noticed and move on from there to something higher up in standard.
if the right move wasn't forthcoming this time round he's certainly young enough for there to be a next time or two.
just my take like

2 full backs signed - maybe bye-bye Byrne.

Yes but wouldn't it be good to have an outright CB? I'm a traditionalist in that respect.

I take your point. It didn't quite work out with ricketts last season but a good centre back is required I reckon. Branco is too erratic.

Sure Jordan Williams will be CB. The CB/CM is just an indication they can play the ball which will probably be the case for all of our CB's, like Jack Stephens was.
Given the 4231 the other night BOO and Stewart could be fullbacks with byrne as the right winger, then perhaps the as yet unsigned Kent on the left.

Clarke Kent?
Perhaps that's why there is a press ban, we are going to be using the Daily Planet as our news sources.

You missed potential legend out of that. History will tell that Branco will be talked about for decades to come, sometimes brilliant, sometimes brutal, sometimes bad, but never boring.

I think Branco is a good centre half, he will win headers and put tackles in. Probably a poor signing from Powers point of view due to his style, but he would slot into a lot of defences in this league.

To be fair to him, I thought Branco was one of the better players yesterday. Looked composed.

I was just watching the Ryan Kent highlights clip again and I really hope we get him (we've got two out of the three that were reported so hopefully we will). That kid is direct - he gets the ball at his feet and heads towards the goal at maximum speed - I love to see that and it is so what we need. He should make a big difference if we get him.
We knocked it around lovely at times yesterday in the first half, just like last season. But again, just like last season, we seemed to run out of ideas in the final third. I'm sure he would frustrate at times by trying to do too much but that's all part of the learning process and overall I think he would be a superb acquisition.
