Goals in brackets 2011 → Chesterfield (loan) 14 (9) 2012–2013 Charlton Athletic 7 (0) 2012 → Crawley Town (loan) 3 (1) 2012 → Scunthorpe United (loan) 15 (11) 2013 → Coventry City (loan) 1 (0) 2013– Coventry City 16 (10)
56 (31)...that's pretty damn good.

OK. Might be worth a look...so long as his attitude issues are a thing of the past.

That is actually pretty impressive.

I'm still not keen on Clarke, someone who has had 6 clubs in just over two years? Yes he would score goals and play the role great, but would he effect the squad in a negative way. I like we are looking at someone the quality of Clarke and others but bit annoyed the board think a new striker is more important than getting a manager, as this should be the managers decision.
We have a manager we need a striker

Attitude ... Smatitude ..... Most footballers have a bit of an attitude and that mixed with our former leaders arrogance was a mix for disaster. The fella scores goals. If we create chances he will bag plenty. SIGN HIM UP!

If Cooper/Power have us committed to playing such quick, one touch, short passing game, then I'm more than happy for Cooper to get the job. Yes, we lacked in the final third, but if the aim is to play that way, then it sounds good to me. (one performance and I'm a happy clapper!) Edit: Err, transfer rumour...err we're trying to sign Nigel Hasselbaink from St Johnstone.

Depends what the attitude issues were, we only ever heard one side of the story which we all believed at the time - however that source has since been found to be a often unreliable? Good record and frankly if he fits our style and scores the goals it doesnt perturb me much, would liven things even more if we got the mackems in a cup.

Leon Clarke would be an interesting signing, he is definently a proven goalscorer at this level, however would he want to come here? Yes Paolo has gone, but fans have given him a lot of stick, with such chants as "Leon Clarke, he cried on our pitch"

Clarke has been at many clubs and there must be a reason that he does nto settle at clubs and is moved on despite his record.
Paolo was a moaner etc but his work ethic in training was second to none and if Clarke didn't like training.
Ref a manager, I find it poor show that Jed & Co consider a new striker more important than a manager, if they are waiting to give Cooper the job then bloody do it and then wait for the fans to turn on him when when it get's rocky, but as they have already bought in new staff then it speaks volumes

Why does it matter? Cooper is coaching the team until further notice - if a superb candidate falls into our lap, great Cooper can move back into the background. If not he can carrying doing what he is doing, which at first sight seems to be a creditable job.

I think the plan with Cooper is to see how well he does until September, if he's doing a good job, we sign him, if he's doing a poor job, we put him as assistant and bring in someone else.

Perhaps they have somebody in mind who will not be available until mid-September.

Glad you got back on track! At 5ft 6in is he being brought in to make Pritchard look tall?

Especially if the size of his contract 'softens the blow' !
