If we get the Harley from Exeter then he is a quality player.  If we get the the one from Brighton, not so.  Hopefully he will re-find his form.

I think its probably Steve Harley we are after.....

Posh signing Paddy McCourt from Celtic. That's a great signing for this league.

Looks like we missed out on him, not that we ever had much chance when Derby came in.

Former Tottenham, Sunderland, Wigan, QPR, Blackburn and Doncaster defender Pascal Chimbonda is to play for non-league Market Drayton Town in a friendly against Notts County on Wednesday night.

The 34-year-old former France international has been without a club since leaving Doncaster last summer.

Could have sworn he turned us down under Di Canio? Didn't want to play in League 1/2 or something.

Current average age 23.77 before Mason signed today.

A good article here about average ages.

I'm not sure these numbers mean much to be honest. Average age gives a pretty one dimensional view. Add age range, maximum and minimum, and a modal average and you might start getting more of a picture.

But the mean average age of a 20 man squad all at their peak at the age of 27, and a squad made up of 10 x17 year old kids  and 10 x 37 year old clapped out old duffers is exactly  the same.

Which is pretty much what the article says. I.E. Age is not necessarily a determining in success or failure.

We've never had what is considered top young talent on loan in these numbers though have we. I know some peoples concerns over the spurs link, but 4 players from a top 6 club is good. If it was 1 from 4 different clubs surely we'd of lost something with lack of understanding they already have.
