I don't think Creepy can afford to pay any transfer fee so it will be Shitty....the fee is supposed to be @ £100k that Cheltenumb want.

I thought Pack was out of contract?

One wonders why we turned down 250k a few months ago then

It was 125k up front and 125k in installments over time and we wanted all the cash up front seemingly.

He is but he is under 24 so they keep his registration.

I would suggest that Caddis is desperate to leave before the season starts and that Blackpool are the sole bidders in the bidding war hence driving his price down somewhat.

Yeah I can understand it - misjudged how much demand there would be for him when rejecting Birmingham's bids. As it turned out they may not have had the money to buy him anyway.

If the quoted figure is accurate that covers a third of this year's current budget shortfall anyway.

The market in proven, experienced, lower league players at the Ferry/Caddis level appears to have been undermined significantly by cost pressures across the board.  We are not alone; far from it.  Much greater focus on youth in the recruitment policies of clubs at our level than ever there was before.

We are in for Jon Obika according to London Press. Improved a bit it seems, but my word he was awful last time he was here.

Happily spend the Caddis money on Pack if we can't get Mason in.

I hear he is going to Charlton.

I would suggest that it contributes more than that to the shortfall as it is £175k + Caddis wages which are rumoured to be £4k to £5k per week so more like half the deficit in total.

I'm in for this. Young master Thompson proved himself a more than capable right back last season, so Caddis would either have to replace him or someone on the Right wing to slot in - if Pritchard/Fried Rice are as good as they're supposed to be, we might not want that, so we'd have a situation where Cads is benched or replacing Thompson. Pack would be a great 'proven' addition to the centre of the park where so far we only have unproven Spurs youngsters, Luongo, Cox( is he still with us?), Louis Thompson and Navarro (whose legs have gone according to some).

Thinking about it, it's slightly worrying marlon Pack would be an experienced player if he comes in...

Caddis doesn't want to be here so the sooner he's out and its all done and dusted the better.

We do need to get some experience in the side, especially in midfield i think. The worry is the change of manager etc puts back player recruitment (if you accept the manager has anything to do with it).

Hoping for some good news at the game later today
