I don't need to tell you that the likelihood of it happening is slim because you're as aware of that as I am.
Yeah, I know I know. Sustainability is the right model. But I probably won't prefer it to the Black model (the bit where he was prepared to fund the club). I will prefer it to going bust though! I just take exception at comments Black's way not sustainable. It kind of was if he'd stuck at it, it just wasn't self funding. Basically I'm still grumpy at having to start all over again. I just hope the clubs debts are as peachy as made out at time of takeover.

It can be sustainable if the benefactor is clearly in it for the long haul, i.e. Dave Whelan, Jack Walker etc but with Black he had zero interest in football, let alone Swindon Town.

Has anyone actually seen Oakley play or in traditional Swindon Supporter style (see N Thompson) is it just being assumed that he isn't as good as the player he is potentially replacing?
I have. As big if not bigger than Flint. Better ball player than Flint imo. Need a nasty streek to play centre back but he does have the ability if the mindset is there for pro standard. Could be a gem but likewise could fall short. Without games we wont know.

Broken bone(s) in foot if I remember correctly. I have seen him play but tbh does not stand out too much in my recollection. Was on the bench a few times when we were thin on the ground so whether KMac sees something in him or it was just for experience/necessity we will know pre-season I guess. As said elsewhere, Joe Devera I would have held onto above Aden Flint as Devera could slot anywhere into the back four although centre back was his best position without a doubt. Flint is a good lower league centre back and no more, and if the money being offered is the amount being bandied around then we have to take it under the current situation. I assume (hopefully) that KMac has enough contacts in the game to be able to pick up adequate replacement(s) from among the heaven only knows how many players who are out of contract now.

He's under contract.
And unlike some other players, I'm not sure anyone else would pay for him.
